Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce are taking their relationship from ‘You Belong With Me’ to ‘Forever & Always. Eeeeeee! The couple confirmed their engagement with a joint Instagram post on August 26, 2025, captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Kelce worked with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry to design the ring… a round brilliant-cut old mine diamond, which was bezel-set in yellow gold with filigree detail work on the side of the band. The vintage-style sparkler feels perfectly aligned with Swift’s signature aesthetic.
The elongated antique cushion-cut diamond measures approximately eight carats, with F color and VS1 clarity, set in 18k yellow gold with needle-point prongs. Smaller diamonds and hand-engraved accents embellish the shoulders of the ring, completing the timeless look. Specialists estimate the ring is valued around $700,000+.

How did Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift?
Details of the proposal are sneaking out. In an interview Travis’s father, Ed Kelce, shared that the proposal happened “maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago” at Kelce’s home.
“He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event,” Ed explained. “And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”
The big moment ended up being beautifully intimate. “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful.”
Following the proposal, they called their parents to tell them the big news. Ed says, “I got a FaceTime call from them, and as soon as I saw the FaceTime, I saw it was Travis, and then I saw Taylor there with him, I knew what they were going to say,” he said, “and they, you know, let us know.”
Fans have caught glimpses of the couple’s connection over the past two years. The pair, who began dating in 2023, recently appeared together on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, where Swift also announced her upcoming 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl.
In a profile for GQ, Kelce shared, “Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people. We’re just two people that are in love… It happened very organically, even though from a media standpoint it was being tracked. Nothing I’ve ever done has been a controlled, organized process.”
