Planner Samantha of StruckSured and Foraged Floral took every little nook and riverside viewpoint on the property and brought stunning florals and subtle romance to each scene. The Columbia Gorge Hotel is a special and historical nook right outside of Hood River overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. A stream runs through the property and flows over the mountainside in a beautiful cascading waterfall which alone attracts guests and visitors from all around the pacific northwest. Samantha of StruckSured Events & Designs chose this location because of a deep-rooted history her husband’s family shares with it. Her husband, Jordan, is a fifth-generation orchardist and works on the same property his ancestors had. The Columbia Gorge Hotel is their neighbor, the property connects and complements one another.

Needless to say, these understated place settings would be so, so lovely for a bridal shower or intimate spring dinner, too.

The details that were gathered for the shoot were influenced heavily on the history of the hotel, all while bringing in modern and elegant touches. Traces of gold were introduced throughout the day, from the flatware and the speckles on the plates, to the interior of the building, specifically at the bell tower. We used garden roses, lilac, poppies, ranunculus, olive, dogwood, muscari, lily of the valley, and michelia as our floral focus, adding touches not only on the tablescape, but also on the cake designed by Windflower Cakes and on the invitation suite. Soft whites and yellows paired beautifully with the pink blossom tree that hung over our ceremony site towards the back of the hotel.
