Ready, Cakies? It’s time to share the photos from our first shoot with Crate and Barrel of the season, in honor of a pretty special topic: the first anniversary. Anyone out there coming up on this most romantic milestone yourself? There’s something so lovely about crowning an entire year of married firsts with a cozy eve spent reminiscing about the months past, not to mention a little dreaming about what’s to come. And we really, really love the idea of doing so with an intimate meal at home, complete with Gift Registry selections that not only elevated all your holidays and parties throughout the year, but that you brought out during all those dinners and date nights in between, too.
Isn’t it kind of amazing to think that all the wares you added to the Registry over a year ago have now become such well-loved staples in your home? Exactly why we’re always going on and on about how special the process of registry-building is. Not just an afterthought, you know.
Your Registry is likely dominated by lots of neutral, fit-for-everyday-dining, type of necessities, like a good dinnerware set (the Marin collection is a winner, every time) mixed in with your more seasonal pieces. The prints on these Karmela Dinner Napkins go such a long way in giving everything that decidedly fall look, so don’t forget details like that once you’ve got the year-round pieces out of the way. And of course, gold is *always* a crowd pleaser. Even if the crowd is a party of two!
As far as serveware goes, the Beck Gold Serving Board is totally worth breaking out every chance you get. It’s one of the more essential pieces for throwing dinner parties, but so deserves to make an appearance on anniversary dinners, too.
Did we mention that even the dining table shown here comes from Crate and Barrel? Even more beautiful in person, we tell ya.
If you’ve been eyeing the Kent Wire Candle Holders so far throughout, you’ll be happy to know that they come in five sizes. Yes, five! Scoop up a few so you can keep ’em around on your average fall eve and bring them all together when entertaining.
One last step: Dessert, obvs. Those of you waiting all year to dig back into that wedding cake top will already have that one figured out. But just in case you needed inspiration, we decided to illustrate that with this little gold-painted number from Sheila Mae above. A necessity, really. Bonus points if it’s displayed pretty with a Wood Marble Pedestal.
BTW, this print from The Heirloom Bouquet? Such a neat way to preserve your wedding bouquet. They create a fine art photo with the same types of blooms that made up your bouquet and add calligraphy titles to each type of flower. Genius!
After adding the picks below to your own Registry (or shopping them to complement your current collection), you can head right over to the Crate and Barrel blog to learn all about the fall cocktail bar situation above. Perfect pair for an anniversary date night, if you ask us.
