Isn’t this first photo just beautiful?? The very very talented Anna Kuperberg sent us this pretty wedding at a private estate in Sonoma. And it has such a thoughtful theme woven throughout.
Early in their courtship Steve traveled a lot for work. In order to keep each other connected to the other, they started a book club of sorts… with just two members. They read books together even when they were apart and their love of reading became the central theme to their marriage celebration.
Instead of reading scripture, they chose letters and emails from their own dating archive to craft their very personal ceremony. They wrote their own vows that articulated their union in a way no traditional ceremony readings could. Each guest was given a book full of quotes and passages from the stories they’d read and shared during their relationship. Isn’t that just the neatest favor ever?
The intro goes like this:
“Early on in our relationship, we found a common language and interest in discussing the books we were reading together. On this day, we recognize that the stories we’ve encountered along the way, whether real or fictional, have undoubtedly shaped us as people and as a couple. In this book you’ll find a collection of quotes that we’ve read to each other over the past few years.
We could have given you some candied almonds or a scented candle, but this favor will look a lot cooler on your bookshelf. Consider it an offering of our sincerest gratitude.
Thank you for filling the pages of our story with tall tales and characters we will never forget.”
Vintage car! Another one! Never get tired of those.
And the beautiful decor put together by Julie Solomon Atwood.
It’s amazing how creative people can be during their wedding planning process, isn’t it? We’re thinking this goes down as a top 10 favor idea.
Congratulations, Danielle and Steve! We wish you many decades of stories ahead.
