Nancy + Trenton’s classic vintage inspired wedding was so full of thoughtful details, where to begin? For starters, Nancy designed the bridesmaid dresses! And she learned calligraphy. Plus, they hit up antique shops for brass décor… See what all those long hours added up to in these shots by photog Phil Chester:

She had a 3am campout at the Monique Lhuillier sample sale to snag this (brand new!) gown. Sooo worth it.

They discovered the Carondelet House via 100LC! A perfect fit, yes?

On the bridesmaid dresses: Their dresses were vintage inspired, all different, but with a common theme, beautiful delicate ivory lace over vintage floral patterns (inspired by Valentino). I designed each dress with each girl’s personality in mind. The dresses were made by my aunt, Marina Rodriguez – seamstress and alterations specialist.

We had a two year engagement and I started planning the day after he proposed to me, so for two years I planned out every detail of our special day. Nancy DIYed pretty much everything, from the backdrop to garlands to all the calligraphy—which she taught herself. Her advice to DIY brides? Time management is key, especially when you only have weekends free.

How about a sultry, romantic makeup look to inspire you today? Just look at those sparkling eyes. So perfect. Bride Nancy had the chance to flaunt this amaze 1940s inspired look by bareMinerals on her wedding day at Carondelet House (which you’ll see here on 100lc tomorrow!). Thanks to makeup artist Thang Dao for showing us how it’s done.

Nancy: I have been wearing bareMinerals for as long as I can remember. I’ve tried other brands, but I always go back to bareMinerals. It stays on all day, and a little goes a long way. I never look like I’m wearing too much make up, and I love that it is all natural. For my wedding day, it lasted through the flood of happy tears I cried, and that was very important to me. I am the biggest crybaby, so I needed something that wouldn’t let me down. I tested a few other brands, and they all left me with embarrassing streaking tear marks – so I decided to stick with what I know and love. I’m SO glad I did. The bM makeup artist created the perfect look for me that day, and I’m so thankful! I wouldn’t change a thing. bareMinerals was absolutely perfect for me.

The latest genius product from bareMinerals, bareSkin, is a super light liquid foundation that delivers clinically-proven tone-correcting coverage with the bare minimum of ingredients. With jojoba, coated mineral pigments, vitamin C, supercharged lilac plant stem cells, and a coconut-derived base, it’s a good-for-you foundation. From bareMinerals: Created with purity in mind, bareSkin Foundation mirrors our ‘less is more’ philosophy. No oil. No silicone. No water. No parabens. No fragrance.

And now, how to get this bold, vintage inspired bareMinerals look for your big day:

bareMineral wedding makeup | 100 Layer Cake

Face:
Start with Purely Nourishing Moisturizer: Combination Skin.
Nourish skin with Firming Eye Treatment & Multi-Wrinkle Repair.
Prep skin with Original Prime Time Foundation Primer, to smooth out skin’s texture for the best makeup application.
Apply bareSkin Foundation in Bare Sand #12. Just a little bit goes a long way. Shake, Drop, Buff™ one drop at a time – with the Perfecting Face Brush.

Eyes:
Begin with READY 4.0 Eyeshadow in The Truth, then add 5-in-1 BB Advance Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in Divine Wine on eyelids for an instant and long-lasting smoky eyeshadow combination.
Line with Lasting Line Eyeliner in Absolute Black.
Coat lashes with Lash Domination Mascara.
To ensure the makeup is happy-tear ready, Locked and Coated Waterproof Top Coat  seals the deal to make mascara and eyeliner last for the life-time memories.
Lastly, a good Rockabilly inspired makeup calls for structured brows. The Frame & Define Browstyler in Dark will make that precision happen in no time!

Cheeks:
Begin with READY Blush in Aphrodisiac and add Rose Radiance to give a soft, glowing, and radiant finish.

Lips:
For a bold lip, use Marvelous Moxie Lipliner in Pumped, the most natural looking lipliner.
A bold, deep red lipstick, Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Call The Shots finishes this modern, Rockabilly inspired makeup look.

Remember this bouquet from the Palm Springs mid-century modern wedding we featured earlier this month? Megan Gray of Honey and Poppies totally impressed us with this coral beauty, and we just had to inquire about each and every stem and petal that went into it.

Romantic Desert bouquet recipe | Bouquet by Honey and Poppies | Photo by Steve Cowell | 100 Layer Cake

Megan created this mix for the bright, cheery desert wedding by combining the above ingredients: tillandsia, coral charm peonies, white veronica, coral honeysuckle, Juliet garden roses, sword fern, a hint of succulent, and that vibrant king protea. After some strategic arrangement, the sword ferns popped out around the edges, shades of green emerged from a sea of coral, and pops of white kept it romantic and fresh. It was all tied together with shimmering gold to add a little sparkle.

Wouldn’t this look just as amaze as a centerpiece set in gold vases? We’re in love!

Thanks to the talents below for all the inspo…
