To celebrate the recent enactment of New York’s law allowing same-sex couples to be wed, we have a super exciting giveaway to share with you all.

Jen Huang is offering one New York City engagement shoot to one very lucky same-sex couple. Isn’t that spectacular? We whole-heartedly support everyone’s right to marry whomever they love and we’re so happy to be able to share this incredibly generous offer with you all!

Here are the details:
To enter, email Jen {at} JenHuangPhotography {dot} com with your photo and your love story.

Winner will be chosen and announced next Friday and the photo shoot will take place shortly after that in a location of your choice in NYC.

Doesn’t that sound fantastic? Thank you so much for offering this, Jen!

We can’t imagine anything more patriotic than people having the freedom to love and marry whomever they chose.

We hope everyone has a celebratory long weekend and we’ll see you Tuesday with a super great Pop-Up Shop.

Love this beautiful shoot for the gorgeous new wedding accessories line, Preston & Olivia, shot by Trent Bailey Photography. Trent’s wife, Dara, started the line and it and the shoot are so pretty!

Here’s a little bit about the collection from the designer herself:

“For this first collection, I wanted the focus to be about the fabrics and textures for each piece, all while keeping each item timeless. I referred back to the basics of millinery and the techniques I learned in classes at FIT. As for inspiration for each piece, I looked at vintage hats and embellishments found in flea markets, antique shops, and my grandmother’s cedar chest (a favorite spot of mine to visit as a child). This collection is filled with nostalgia for the place I left behind (my home state of Louisiana) but is only a preview for the wonderful things that are to come for Preston & Olivia.”

Isn’t it kind of divine? Such beautiful pieces and the styling from Merci New York (and the photography of course) is gorg.

And now the best part… the giveaway! Dara has graciously offered to give this double flower halo headpiece to one lucky reader. Leave a comment and we’ll select and email the winner at the end of the week. Buenas suerte!

Update! Thanks for participating in our giveaway. Congrats to our winner, Whitney Kay!

Continuing on with Earth Day-ish posts (since today is officially Earth Day!), we have an excellent giveaway from Branch Home. Branch is a sustainably-minded online shop based in San Francisco, founded in 2005 by a graphic designer looking to promote beautiful, functional housewares that are also thoughtfully made.

They carry a gorgeous mix of contemporary housewares, furniture, and gift items, and provide a beautiful, eco-friendly registry option (wedding, baby, or any other event) for those of you who are searching for gifts that keep your home and the earth happy. And their commitment to sustainability isn’t just a gimick. They research a product’s materials, manufacturing process, and labor employed, ensuring that each product they sell meets their high standards.

And for those of you who are hoping to make your wedding a bit more earth-friendly, Branch is the official US importer for WASARA, a 100% tree-free “paper” plate. WASARA dishes are beautiful and would certainly hold their own at a stylish wedding or event. They’ve won all sorts of design awards, they’re fully biodegradable and compostable, and the line includes 15 different pieces including bowls, trays, cups, plates, and more.

AND they can be heat stamped (aka branded) with your name or monogram or wedding date for a really fun addition to your decor! If you’re still curious about more, Fast Company’s Co.Design did a great piece expounding the virtues of this frickin’ awesome product line!

You can purchase bulk or retail WASARA packs here and/or a sample WASARA kit for $20 that comes with a gift certif for $20 of additional WASARA products.

Now, the giveaway! Leave a comment including the link to your fave product on their site and we’ll choose a winner for the $100 gift card good for anything on the Branch site, at the end of next week.

Creating a registry is, if you ask us, one of the most fun parts of planning your wedding. Not to be greedy or anything, but it’s pretty awesome to fully outfit your kitchen and home in one fell swoop. But it’s so hard figuring out where to register, especially if you’re looking for something different than the big box stores.

Enter NewlyWish! NewlyWish provides couples with their carefully curated collection of unique shops and the finest brands for kitchen, tabletop, bed & bath, and home décor, plus less traditional items such as artwork, food and wine, and tickets to cultural and sporting events. Which means you get to create a registry that truly reflects your personal style. It’s so awesome.

{Shown above clockwise from top left: newlywed cooking class, Colorware Collection dinnerware, Dwell Studio coasters, Mud Australia dinnerware, Libeco vintage linens, a pretty travel map print, and a museum membership.}

Their site is pretty and super easy to use. It makes creating your registry fun and easy, plus your guests will have no problem shopping your unique registry items in one place.

Even better, NewlyWish goes beyond the registry to include unique and thoughtful wedding party gifts, favors, and welcome bags so you can share the love with all of your family and friends. And after the wedding? NewlyWish extends a 10% discount to all items left on the registry, personalized URL and announcement cards for sharing your registry, as well as a variety of exclusive offers and discounts from their partners for everything from lingerie to invitations.

And now the fun part. To celebrate spring, they’re offering one lucky couple a $150 certificate towards anything on their site! To enter, simply leave a comment with your favorite item from the NewlyWish site (please also include a link to that product). The winner will be chosen on April 22nd. That’s two weeks to enter! But you might as well do it now.

And if you’re the kind of couple who prefers a unique registry option, see what NewlyWish has for you.
