One of our Chicago vendors, trüstudio, is representin’ today, and helping us to kick off  the many Valentine’s Day / romantic inspiration that we have coming your way next week. This uber charming love sesh – complete with a pretty little lady playing a hand-drawn banjo starts off just like how we all dream of spending a sweet day with our man – lounging around and being cute together. Halfway into the shoot things get a little different (in the most creative way possible). See for yourself!

Here are a  few words from trustudio to help set the mood:

It’s a bright sunny morning and nothing beats lounging around with the one you love. It happens to be Valentine’s day, but there won’t be any red roses, chocolates, or teddy bears gifted today. This year, for Jaime and Patrick, it’s all about celebrating their relationship, their memories of times past, and looking forward to their future. After being together for many years, Patrick wanted this year to be different, to be special and to show Jaime just how much their relationship meant to him. He decided that, instead of giving Jaime a traditional card, his ‘valentine’ would be to make an old school paper fortune – with a twist.  Hidden inside were favorite memories he and Jaime share, as well as an upcoming surprise.

This is where the shoot turns into cute overload. Kind of reminds us of a cute scene out of Michel Gondry’s, The Science of Sleep.

Don’t mind us. We may just start illustrating sweet cute nothings on all our personal photos. This is the cutest idea!

Thanks to all the amazing talent involved for allowing us to share!

There’s something about ending the week with a sweet engagement shoot. They ease you into your weekend of planning or pinterest hunting for reception decor ideas, and when they’re shot on a rainy day near the docks of Cherry Creek Reservoir near Denver, Colorado – by Sara Hasstedt, they make you wish for spring showers to hurry up so you can cuddle with your hunny.

Their cute proposal story…

In March, Tom planned a little getaway to Hawaii for us. Just a few weeks before we left, my ring, which we had custom made, came in and I had the opportunity to try it on for all of 15 seconds- enough time to guarantee I loved it. Of course, I thought to myself that it would be so perfect if he proposed in Hawaii. Wanting the proposal to be a surprise, Tom gave me every possible excuse for us to wait to get engaged. By the time we left for the trip I was completely persuaded that I would have to wait for months until it happened. We spent the first couple days of our trip in Honolulu having a wonderful time and by the third day we headed to Kauai for a change of scenery. By this point, I was sure that if he had planned  to propose in Hawaii that he would have already done it. During our first day in Kauai, we scouted around the island checking out all the beaches and towns around the area we were staying in. After going for a little hike on some sand dunes, grabbing lunch and enjoying some ice cream, Tom suggested we watch the sunset at Poipu beach. What kind of girl doesn’t love sunsets at the beach? As we snuggled on the beach and watched the sun sink down toward the horizon, Tom got down on one knee and proposed. I was blown away and, of course, said yes!  Come to find out, Tom had been carrying the ring around with him at various points during the trip, waiting for that perfect moment… and when it came, it truly was perfect.

The stylish and glamorous Tony and Alicia knew they wanted to do something unique for their engagement photos. They wanted a look that was classy, vintage and radiated old world charm with a European sensibility. Finding the location, the unforgettable chandelier-lit Palazzo Lavaca in Texas, was half the battle. The Nichols would take care of the rest with their stunning shots. Cakelets, if  T + A don’t get married at this venue, can you? It’s crazy gorge!

Because we know you’ll want to know…those leopard pumps are from J.Crew Collection. Leopard print is the new black – it can go with anything, including a wedding gown. Don’t you think?

Love her dress? It’s a Yoana Baraschi from Anthropologie.

This pine scented e-sesh will leave you feeling warm, toasty, yearning for hot cocoa, and reaching to finally light that expensive pine forest candle you thought was sacred. We love this shoot for so many reasons, the number one being Steven Michael photographed it beautifully. It doesn’t get merrier than two turtle (love) doves named Ben + Laura bundled up and on the hunt for their first Christmas tree as a newly engaged couple. Now, if only we could find the nearest Christmas tree farm to recreate this with our beau’s…

Please tell us these pretty farms exist somewhere on the West Coast. Amazing!

We throw around the terms love sesh, e-sesh, and engagement shoot all the time. Although very much in love, the thing about this adorable couple is, they’re not actually engaged. Yet. Nicole + Cody are waiting on the completion of college before they take the next step, so the sweet ring you see Nicole wearing on her right hand, is a promise ring. Love during any of its stages is sweet, especially when its accompanied by heart-embroidered paper planes…and shot by the talented Haley Sheffield.

From Haley:

Nicole won a giveaway I offered back in June (I don’t do them often!). Before the session, my friend Jessica, from A Darling Day had been discussing some ideas for a “paper plane” session. Assuming at the time that Cody was in the Air Force (we live in a town centralized by the Air Force base), I thought Nicole and Cody’s session would be perfect for this! Jessica blew me away with her incredible usage of paper planes…plus I L.O.V.E. the adorable stitched details she incorporates in her paper products. It played out better than I could have imagined!

No pressure, but we can’t wait to hear how and when the engagement goes down! We wish Nicole + Cody the best! See you back here on Monday!
