The moodiest gothic forest wedding with gorgeous fall florals

We gotta admit, few and far between as they are, Halloween weddings are a pretty big hit around here. (Remember this gorgeous, rustic Halloween wedding and this enchanted forest inspiration?) It takes a special talent to pull off a dark and moody theme for an occasion as cheerful as a wedding, but as Katelyn Mallett Photography and Bad Rabbit Flowers prove in today’s post, it CAN be done. And oh so well, too. Take a peek!

On the concept: In the spirit of Halloween, this photoshoot was created to encompass the darker side of weddings. We showcased alternatives to the light and bright, and went for an edgy and mysterious whimsy with our decor and shooting style.

Halloween Cocktail: Blackberry Margarita with Dry Ice

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups fresh blackberries
1 cup lime juice
3 ounces (2 shots) blackberry brandy
2 1/2 cups orange juice
3/4 cup Herradura tequila
3 tablespoons agave nectar (or more to taste)
blackberries and bamboo skewers
fancy glasses and dry ice

Instructions
1. Place the lime juice and blackberries in a small bowl. Using a muddler, muddle until fully combined. The smoother the better.
2. Pour the blackberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds. Might need to help it through by pressing it through with a spoon to get all the juice out.
3. Pour the juice into a pitcher, followed by the blackberry brandy, orange juice, tequila, and agave. Stir to fully combine.
4. Fill each glass with the margarita mixture, top with a cube of dry ice and garnish with 3 blackberries on a bamboo skewer across the top. Enjoy!  That’s the stuff.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not drink while the ice is still bubbling around. Once it has melted, it’s safe.

Thanks to the talented crew below for giving weddings this dark, Halloween twist!
