When photog Taryn Dudley sent over these photos of Nikki and her amazing pink wedding dress, we knew we had to learn more about this stylish bride and her guy Court. Turns out, they were both models in New York before moving to LA and falling in love, and Spreafico Farms in San Luis Obispo, California was the perfect spot to channel their rustic, romantic style. Find all their fashion deets and more on their rustic wedding, below!

Mhmmm, this pink wedding dress. Pretty magical, right? It’s the Marlo Ford ‘Mila’ gown.

Rustic Wedding Details

Nikki tells it, Our wedding theme was vintage and romantic with southern touches. I wanted everything green, very few flowers. I’m from Charleston, SC, and when I think of home I think of lush greenery and hanging moss. I also wanted to keep the colors neutral, as to not take away from the romantic/green feel. If we’re being honest, it was definitely more of a representation of me, but Court and I have similar tastes, so we worked together on picking out rental pieces, vendors, etc.

They only toured two California wedding venues including Spreafico Farms, and besides its expansive property and hilltop ceremony site, the welcoming and accommodating atmosphere helped them seal the deal.

The bride, on a fave memory… For me, I think the best part was when we left to take our couples pictures. That was when it started to sink in, plus we got a breather from all the craziness that is a wedding. It was nice to be together, as man and wife, saying “YES! We did it!”. There was also a funny moment where Taryn asked me to fall sideways so my dress wouldn’t move from how it was styled and for Court to catch me. He didn’t hear her say it and I fell right on my side… It was hilarious. For Court, it was when he saw me walk up the aisle. He couldn’t stop crying, it was just a beautiful moment.

Nikki and their friends and fam also took on a ton of DIY projects for their rustic wedding theme, including reception table décor, table numbers and signage, bridesmaids bouquets, favor bags, barn lighting and reception greenery. It was all in display in the venue’s beautiful barn. So impressive!

I think the hardest part of planning dealing with the rush of things. What I mean is, you can find vendors you like, but they don’t start taking bookings until a certain date, then you have to hurry up and book them before someone else gets your date. Or, for save the dates and invitations, you have to wait because you don’t want to do it too early, then suddenly they have to be sent out right now! Everything comes in waves, it was hard to spread it all out. The advice my sister in law gave me that I would definitely recommend to future brides is to take time to get one task a day done. I preferred sitting down with a glass of wine at the end of the day and going through my list.

Such simple, solid advice! Cheers, C + N!
