Hi, prettiest bunch of blooms ever! Doesn’t this first image by Shannon Skloss make you wonder just what other spectacular details make up this gorgeous bridal editorial Chic & Pretty Events sent our way? Inspired by their incredible location, The Mission San José in Texas, the team brought bold color, texture, and a sense of refinement to the historic space. Sooo… Shall we?!

The hand-painted invitation suite from InLoft Calligraphy embodied their theme: refinement in ruins. So romantic!

Ashley of Chic & Pretty Events explains, There’s beauty in the blemishes of aged ruins and tarnished things. Hidden in South Texas is The Mission San José church. This Spanish colonial was the opportune setting for creating our refinement in ruins editorial. It’s darkened stone arches stand with so much resilience and the sun shines through at every opening. The deeply defined carvings and corroding walls have a way of drawing you in to the antiquity of it all. It’s also close to home for photographer, Shannon Skloss, who has a great affection for her family’s memories made there and selected this gem for our editorial.

Pro tip from the team: Pull in a color story that’s natural to the environment you’re in as a basis for your design. They went with rich, warm tones to play off of the terracotta hues at the venue.

Everly Alaine was the perfect fit for crafting the florals in this palette as her style embodies refinement and romanticism. Her lush and textured bouquet really radiated against the easy flowing Leanne Marshall gown with delicate lace lining the fanned sleeves.

They went in with the goal to highlight a space that almost seems forgotten with romance and refinement, and we have to say they absolutely nailed it. Beautiful work, team!
