When Jacquelyn Hayward sent over these photos she captured of Ashley’s one-on-one workshop with Vessels Florals (who traveled all the way from Korea for the session!), we had to learn more. Lucky for us, Ashley gave us a few of her top floral design quick tips for all you DIY brides + hostesses. Enjoy!

Ashley says, These flowers are the perfect marriage of the end of spring and the beginning of summer. We used beautiful muted roses like koko loco and distant drums, and combine some summer hues like peach and yellow to create unique color palettes. The ranunculus were still beautiful so we used those as secondary blooms, the last of the hellebore and lots of textural branches like spirea and blueberry.
Ashley teaches floral design classes in Park City, Utah, for those of you wondering!
Her first tip? When beginning your arrangement, start with the most structural branches. You can then follow them with delicate vines and greenery to build the initial shape.
She says, Add your focal flowers and remember to keep dimension so that your arrangement feels garden like as opposed to something flat. The dimension and color story is really what makes arrangements like this interesting.
