Modern custom wedding invites from Minted

Not too long ago our friends at Minted let us in on a little secret: they have a brand new service, and wanted us to try it out! They’ve always offered creative wedding stationery straight from their team of independent designers, but now couples have another option: totally custom invitation design. You now have the chance to be more involved in your invites by working with a designer one-on-one in a simple, straightforward process. Big win for our creative couples! Since our lovely readers are just about as obsessed with pretty paper as we are, we wanted to show you guys what these custom wedding invitation suites were all about.

So, what’s the process of working with Minted designers on the perfect invitation suite? Naturally, we started off with a moodboard…

Mood board for modern, sophisticated wedding invites

Before beginning the design, we wanted to gather as much inspiration as possible. The fact that we share so many beautiful weddings daily here on 100LC was a great start! We gathered everything from pretty metallics and patterns to researching interesting printing techniques and unique paper options. This is what we sent over to Minted. Pretty, huh?

After the inspiration phase, our designer came up with two options for us to consider:

We loved how sophisticated and modern the first option was, with a vellum overlay and letterpress pattern. Once we had our selection, we told them what we loved about it and asked about a few customizations. For example, what about adding a little rose gold to to make it pop? Since they aren’t able to foil-press print on vellum, they chose to change the blind-deboss card to a rose gold foil. It turned out so subtle and romantic.

As you know all too well, we’re majorly calligraphy obsessed over here. So one of the first things that came to mind was making the names a script type rather than the serif.

Our designer liked that idea, and it’s amazing what a difference it made! At this point, we had the invitation design complete and were ready to build out the rest of the suite, including the reply card, details card, reception card and envelope design and liner. We requested the liner to have a blush tint to tie the whole thing together, and were basically in love with everything they came up with.

To recap, we gathered inspiration, showed our designer what we love, and worked with them to perfect the design. The process was beyond simple, which is so perfect for busy brides, right?

We’re pretty happy with how this stationery looks on this rose gold table situation, too.

Big thanks to Minted for walking us through this new service! Cakies, head over to Minted Weddings to get started, and get inspired on their Pinterest.
