Colorado elopement

Doesn’t Katherine Ridgely take the most ethereal wedding portraits? Rebecca + Ross knew her love of capturing intimate sessions and small details would be the best way to tell the story of their elopement. And when you hear all about this adventurous duo (story below!), you’ll see why Spruce Mountain in Colorado was such a fitting place to exchange vows.

Their story, via the team… Rebecca and Ross’ first encounter was carefully orchestrated by their closest friends. While Rebecca was working for a professional sports team, friends of both Rebecca and Ross snagged tickets from Rebecca and passed them along to Ross. Soon after the event, they insisted that Ross take Rebecca out for dinner to thank her for the tickets. Shortly after, they find themselves on their first date. While Rebecca sweetly admits she was not initially impressed when Ross told her his aspirations in life were to be a master sheepherder in New Zealand and live out of a Volkswagen van, she quickly realized his adventurous spirit brought out the very best within her. Time slipped away and months later they found themselves cliffside, exchanging the sweetest and most touching vows.

Rebecca explains, Together our life has been the most amazing adventure and the decision to elope allowed us to slow down to celebrate our journey while cherishing the company of one another. We were given the chance to be wholly ourselves while appreciating the little moments. We knew we wanted a location that allowed us to appreciate the beauty of Colorado and Spruce Mountain gave us just that! Secluded trails and beautiful views of Pikes Peak…The location was perfect!

Ross + Rebecca operate a division of Rustic Trades Furniture and Ross wanted to build their sweetheart table for the occasion. Not only did it make their elopement even more special, but it will be the centerpiece of their home. As far as décor, their style is laidback and natural, so they wanted to keep everything soft and romantic, and Sarah Evans Weddings was there to make it happen: Sarah pulled together such a talented team from her amazing network, and they all made sure absolutely everything was taken care of for us! All Ross and I had to do was show up, enjoy each other, and soak up the day!

Oh and pro tip for any couples considering elopement: enlist a videographer! R + R wanted to be able to share video with friends + fam so they brought in Basecamp Visual to capture all the special moments and stunning landscape. Congratulations you two!
