If you love fall, love intimate get togethers, love weddings, AND love a good story, you can’t miss Kim and Jason’s family elopement. It was just them, a small team of wedding folks including Rosencrown Photography and Vintage Mingle Rentals & Petite Events, and their four gorgeous littles that became one family during a ceremony at Adeline Farms in Washington.

Pilar of Vintage Mingle says, We used apples throughout the wedding decor a s it symbolized their family’s growth and new life together. The ceremony altar was adorned with asymmetrical apple branches and enclosed the area bordered with bushel baskets filled with apples placed on wood stumps and crates . As the children walked down the aisle, th ey tossed acorns and leaves foraged at the farm from their baskets and buckets.
A delicious fall brunch + some playtime for the kids followed the ceremony. The tablescape was inspired by the farm and what it produces, and the mix ‘n match chairs by Lavena B. Vintage looked like they came straight from the property. Bramble Floral Design made sure the florals looked wild and natural too.

Kim tells it, We eloped in order to maintain the simplicity and intimacy that we desired. We have four children to consider, so financially a large wedding was out of the question, and honestly, totally undesirable to both of us. We wanted a special ceremony, one in which could formally recite our vows to one another, as well as symbolically unify our family. Our elopement achieved both of these things, and our family tree planting was such a special way to symbolically represent the foundation that Jason and I are setting for the children and our family.

And lastly, the groom’s take on the day…
The November air was crisp and wet. Good clean mountain air that made our lungs feel full and hearty. We found the silo and crawled into a small opening there to look at the world from inside. Next we visited the chicken coop on the hill up by the road. Looking back from there we could see the whole expanse of the property. The excitement was building rapidly when we entered the barn. There, Pilar and the rest of the lively wedding entourage were working out the final details of the scene where my wife and I would become married. After a short while we came out the other side of the barn to see the bride coming up the hill in her beautiful floral gown.
Every step or phase of the ceremony seemed to flow into the next. Our desire in large to elope came from wanting a quiet, calm celebration that remained in full about “us”, the husband and wife, and their collective four children. Everyone worked together carefully and thoughtfully making the day a most intimate and memorable wedding day.
