Dreamy wedding inspiration at the Utah Salt Flats

When you have one of a kind wedding dress like in the photo above (adorned with real flowers even), you kinda have to find a place to appropriately show it off. Enter the northern part of Utah’s Great Salt Lake, where its salt flats and pink water can completely envelop you (and your guests too). After searching high and low, Amber Michelle Events ended up here, where her, photog Anastasia Strate, + their team whipped up the dreamiest pink editorial complete with stunning portraits.

Amber says, Not being from Utah, I flew into Salt Lake City and must have hunted down seven different venue locations within two days. Nothing completely felt like the right fit. It wasn’t until I drove almost two hours to the middle nowhere in search for something magical and PINK. Everyone knows about the Great Salt Lake of Utah, but not many know that the Great Salt Lake is split into two lakes, where the northern lake water is entirely pink. As I walked all the way out onto the Northern Salt Flats, the salt under my feet started to turn light pink. As I approached the water, it was the most surreal place I’ve ever been to.

Sooo, the dress. It’s from Natalie Wynn Design’s spring collection and she wanted to incorporate real flowers within the sheer blouse that would complement the bride’s figure. Amber then surrounded the bride with deep hues and the light pink + airy white of the natural surroundings.

The light pink and white accents through the geodes/crystals, baby pink goblets, utensils, delicious cake, and macaroons, really did a great job bringing forth the Salt Flat’s pink salty ground and light pink water of the lake. I made sure that these elements could really pop with all of the hints of dark hues within the dress, stationery, floating florals, and custom dark woodwork.
