So, yesterday we were switching back from this here blog and our new one, 100 Layer Cakelet, admiring the pretty illustrations by Kelli Murray and the gorgeous floral design by Bloem Hill in this flora & fauna birthday party. After stalking their blogs we noticed Kelli + Nicole are going to be collaborating on a new DIY series where they’ll be sharing one creative and beautiful project a month. Um, dream team, right? Their first project, these watercolor paper flowers with an organic, natural and painterly feel.

She definitely knows what works for her and she’s not about to fix what ain’t broke!
These are so elegant, especially with the ombre-esque effect. What a super little project.

very very very very nice!
I love the way these paper flowers look. The painted detail on the edge gives them depth and I like that you could change the paper color to incorporate your own colors. I think i will try making one as a hair comb decoration, perhaps with three flowers of different sizes. Thanks for sharing this tutorial and idea.
