100 Layer Cake

KT Merry recently shot this wedding portrait session for Anita + Jonathan, who had a rainy wedding day due to storm Sandy. They came to her after the wedding hoping she could create the beautiful portraits that they missed on their big day. While she didn’t shoot their wedding she was so happy to be able to create these images for them. Also, it’s important to note that the bride actually designed and made the lace shrug she wore in the images. The photos are beyond stunning!

From Anita:

Jonathan and I met each other in Gainesville, FL six years ago. I always dreamed of getting married in an outdoor location, as an architect and designer, natural light and architecture, mean a lot to me. After getting engaged in New York, we started planning our wedding in Orlando, FL; but on the day, hurricane Sandy forced us to move the outdoor wedding into a ballroom. Since the storm kept us away from our location, having a bride and groom portrait session right after the wedding was the greatest idea. We feel beyond grateful to have done the session with KT & Chad. They are the sweetest and they truly captured the love and happiness we share. They made us feel so comfortable and even suggested that we incorporate some details from our wedding day. We loved the idea and really enjoyed the session with them in one of our favorite locations in Miami. The day of the session, the weather was beautiful, we feel so relaxed and happy to see each other all dressed up again. Getting to wear my gown again, the veil I hand applied lace and the cover up I designed and hand sewn for our day, felt very special too. Thank you so much for helping us make our wedding an unforgettable experience.
