Lastly but certainly not least, our favorite wedding invitations! If you’ve followed our blog for a bit you know that we’re a tad bit obsessed with pretty paper. Invites, programs, escort cards, dessert bar labels – they’re there for everyone to see so when they’re done beautifully we take notice. Plus, announcing your wedding is the first impression your guests will have on your wedding so might as well make it a good one. These wedding invitations are ace!

Cheree Berry wedding invitations

When Cherry Berry Paper shared these wedding invitation designs with us earlier in the year we flipped! Gold foil details, horn blowers, multi-colored confetti dots spilling out of envelopes… um, yes.

Ladyfinger Letterpress wedding invitations

Ladyfinger Letterpress had always worked with couples on creating a custom look for their invitations, so hearing that they were offering some of their most popular designs for purchase was music to our ears.

Alee and Press invites

Loved the typography in these Alee and Press wedding invitations!

Let’s talk about dresses. Lace, vintage, strapless, beaded, ruffled, sparkly… we could go on. Point is, wedding dresses come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and we love ’em for that. We’ve heard stories from brides that have had that ‘love at first sight’ moment with the first dress they try on, sometimes it takes months, or sometimes you just got to go the custom route. Whichever way this brides did it, they chose wisely. We’re going to let them shine one more time in hopes they inspire all you brides-to-be!

ps. Click on each photo to take you to the full post to view these dresses in all their glory.

Monique Lhullier wedding dress

Sarah Yates is a dear friend and fabulous wedding photographer, so it was extra special to share her elopement this year. And that Monique Lhuillier ruffled beauty? We love how Sarah paired it with a hot pink cardi! {Photo by Max Wanger}

Jason Wu wedding dress

This could possibly be one of the best dresses to wear for a vineyard wedding, no? The bride, Jooin makes it look effortlessly beautiful. {Photo by Trent Bailey}

vera wang wedding dress

You may remember seeing this dress in our favorite weddings post earlier today. Well, yeah… this dress was not like any dress we saw this year. Thank you Vera! {Photo by Lisa Poggi}

Monique Lhullier wedding dress

As much as we loved all the styled wedding shoots that came our way, we also loved the more minimal bridal shoots that focused on beautiful photography and pretty dresses like the ones in this shoot by Elizabeth Messina.

Ines di Santo wedding dress

Every now and then we saw a bride wearing a blush gown, but the silhouette of this va va voom Ines di Santo gown made our hearts flutter! {Photo by Jen Huang}

Reem Acra wedding dress

Some dresses were just made for certain brides. It became obvious to us when we saw Alecia in this Reem Acra jeweled cap sleeve gown. {Photo by Avery House}

 Ines di Santo wedding dress

This gorgeous Ines Di Santo dress is from Nikki + Andrew’s wedding and photographed by the lovely Caroline Tran.

Andrea Gorrie wedding dress

Melissa selected a beautiful piece of French chantilly lace and went with customizing a simple A-line gown that would show it off. It was the perfect look for her vintage Australian wedding. So classic! {Photo by Louisa Bailey}

Catherine Malandrino wedding dress

Choosing the right dress for a beach wedding can sometimes be a little tricky. We loved how Lauren chose a Catherine Malandrino crochet maxi dress. It was a nice little ode to their Mexican destination wedding! {Photo by Emily Blake}

vintage dress wedding dress

To stay within a budget of $7k Amy had to get creative with their Australian wedding. There had to be a lot of vintage and second hand shopping + DIY details, including her retro styled wedding dress handmade by her mother. {Photo by Brown Paper Parcel}

Reem Acra wedding dress

One photo from this Palm Springs wedding just doesn’t do this wedding nor the dress justice, so might as well just click on over to the full post! {Photo by Max Wanger}

Vera Wang wedding dress

Is it any surprise that there’s another Vera Wang on the list? Wow. This was one of those wedding dresses we wish we could see and feel in person. Stunning detailing! {Photo by Tamiz Photography}

Claire La Faye wedding dress

For those not afraid to rock a bit of color come wedding day, blush is always such a romantic choice. {Photo by Danielle Capito}

Pronovias wedding dress

If there were a wedding dress that could be inspired by the ocean it’s this Pronovias one. Swoon… those layers are something else, right?  {Photo by Simply Rosie}

Anne Ventresco wedding dress

Big Sur’s rich bohemian history was the muse for Britt’s barefoot bridal look. She ditched the shoes and forwent the veil, opting instead for beachy waves and a floral crown and this backless Anne Ventresco gown. {Photo by onelove photography}

 Claire Pettibone wedding dress

FYI we secretly want Tara’s dress. Her entire wedding was breathtaking! {Photo by Dan O’ Day}

There are so many details to a wedding that we love, but the cake? It kinda shares center stage with the bride’s dress, don’t you think? It’s sugar done right and we couldn’t help ourselves from sharing the tiered goodness that caught our sweet tooth this year. Enjoy!

This chevron cake by Bittersweet in Chicago definitely played a star role in one of our favorite weddings from 2012.

If we could repost all the ah-mazing cakes from this modern wedding cakes post we would. Instead we’ll just share this polka dot cutie by Charm City Cakes that’s obviously too pretty to eat!

Ivory and gold feature accented wedding cake

We’d never seen a wedding cake with so much texture (impressive, right?). We were so bummed we couldn’t see it in person at this year’s The Cream NYC, but wow, Lael Cakes, job well done!

Once you see how adorable this Lake Tahoe wedding and couple is, you’ll see why they had an equally adorable cake made for them by Dees Bakery.

Smogg shoppe wedding

Sitting in a Tree knew exactly how to make this bride’s wedding sparkle, and EPlove knew exactly how to capture it all. A whole lot of glitter and a whole lot of pink peonies made this one of our favorite sparkly weddings of the year! And how cool is that instax photo canvas as a guest book?
