Santa Ynez engagement shoot

Santa Ynez fall engagement shoot

Happy weekend, Cakelets! Since many of you will be taking the weekend to snap your engagement photos, we thought we’d drop a little inspiration your way. Plus it’s kind of fun to pop in here on a Saturday. When Stacey Ramsey sent us Rachel + Jonathan’s e-sesh we instantly knew it would be perfect for some fall inspiration. It’s got a cozy autumnal vibe, a handsome couple with great style and a beautiful countryside background. Lovely indeed.

From Stacey:

A little story behind this shoot. It was a “destination” shoot that was meant to take place at Boulder Park in Santa Barbara. Planned literally months in advance, with this wonderfully stylized couple, (vintage fur coat, juxtaposition of cowboy boots & all), we were set to go for a modern rustic take on a 1970’s theme. But after the long drive and all the anticipation — as soon as we arrived, a downpour begin. Not a sprinkle…at STORM. We drove down the winding road off the mountain and began our search that almost lasted until sunset trying to find shelter and a place to shoot! Only after venturing into the beautiful countryside of Santa Ynez, we found a abandoned cattle barn–this couple was such troopers with an amazing attitude! Their love certainly warmed that dilapidated barn for a beautiful shoot! Just as the sun began to set, the rain dwindled for some pretty shots in a field just outside.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and if you’re taking your engagement photos today or tomorrow, may the weather be in your favor!
