Jooin + Mau are on to something. Creating a theme that’s rustic + modern, two very different attitudes coming together in a seamless way? Oh yes, it can be done. The two of them wanted a wedding that felt intimate (a vineyard will accomplish just that), beautiful (feathers in her hair, a Jason Wu gown, and ghost chairs at the reception), and joyful (their smiles say it all). All of the above, combined with the artistic eye of Trent Bailey Photography makes this vineyard wedding such a beauty!

Can you guess which pair belong to Jooin? The biggest pair that screams Michael Kors!

When we visited Bedell Cellars we were instantly sold. Everything from the landscaping to the vineyards to the interior design of the venue were just so beautiful. It also appealed to the style I was going for– Bedell had the rustic vibe because it’s on a vineyard but it’s made up in such a modern way.

He’s totally checking out his beautiful bride in this photo, isn’t he? We are too. That Jason Wu gown is amazing.

See? Don’t these ghost chairs make such an impact?

Their first dance is too cute. They did a Bachata dance to Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” that set the tone of the night. Mau may have also been caught mouthing “1, 2, 3…1, 2, 3…” as they were dancing.

A bit of advice from Jooin:
My advice to future brides is do your very best in planning right up until the wedding, but then on the big day let it all go so that you can take everything in. If you’ve done your due-diligence there is nothing more you can do on the actual day, so you might as well relax and enjoy the day you worked so hard to plan!

Castello di Montignano sounds like a heavenly place to get married. Because it kind of is. Its castle is just an hour’s drive north of Rome, maintains a vintage and modern feel, has a breathtaking view, a large garden, and was the perfect setting for Reem + Mohammed’s reception. Imagine having your ceremony in Lebanon and your reception in Italy. It sounds like a dream, and sounds like a relaxing way to plan a wedding. Be jealous (we are), because that’s what Reem + Mohammed got to do!

Oh how we love the invitations Reem designed!  At first, I wanted to use vintage handkerchiefs to print the invites on, but then opted for delicate fabrics for practical reasons. To ensure they arrived neatly and intact when sending them all over the world, I sealed them in vacuumed transparent plastic.

Ok, we’ve got to learn how to do this hairstyle. Such a classic look!

Our families have always been close, but we had never really met until we both attended a common wedding in Beirut. Even then we both thought that the other was only interested in spending time with the other out of politeness due to the history of our respective families. In reality we both were very much interested in each other.

Lunch in Italy, in the garden of a castle, with this view? Are you kidding us!?

I was after a fresh natural look, as if the flowers had been picked from a garden. We used hydrangeas, camille, roses, and peonies that were placed in glass jars and vases.

We want to party with this family!

One of Reem’s best friends surprised her by coming to the wedding wearing a dress which she embroidered on it their story, from the moment they met till the day her and Mohammed wed.

Sigh…what a view, what a wedding. Congratulations to the beautiful Reem + Mohammed!

Every now and then we like to sprinkle a little engagement sesh into the mix to remind us all of those sweet photos that get snapped of couples pre-wedding, pre-wedding dress, pre-dance party, pre-stress. The talented Hollin Brodeur (also a High School friend of Ashley’s) captures some of the most memorable weddings and has the fun job of working with some lovely couples. Ashley + Kris together with Hollin, in Joshua Tree National Park, during a sunset – it’s pretty much magical folks.

Want to hear their story? Of course you do. Here’s how it all went down:

Kris and I met while attending college in Walla Walla, Washington (even though both of us are originally from California). We met at a mutual friends’ house and bonded over our similar taste in music. We became good friends over the next several months and discovered how much we had in common.  After he brought me his grandma’s home-made crepes, I knew I had found “the one”. We eventually both moved back down to California and have been together for almost 5 years! I traveled with Kris’ family to Maui after he graduated from physical therapy school last June. Kris asked if I would like to go to dinner one night by ourselves and he took me to a beautiful restaurant right off the water.  After dinner, we took a walk along the beach and Kris got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!
