San Francisco nautical wedding reception decor

Categories   Wedding Inspiration

Right now there’s a pier in San Francisco (not Pier 51) sitting lonely that was recently graced by the hands of Rosemary Events and Sillapere, the planning & design team behind many show-stopping Bay Area weddings. The idea behind the shoot was borne of the nautical feel and chilled fog that sweeps over San Francisco’s Marina District. Needless to say the vibrant orange Dahlias, heart-shaped stones and shades of blue in this tablescape bring more romance to a city already full of lovers. If we didn’t tell you this was photographed by Jose Villa, we’re sure you would have figured it out after the first stunning image.  To see more head to newsstands today to pick up the latest issue of San Francisco Brides Magazine!

The table is set with classic Match Pewter Tableware and Sugahara glasses. Custom papers designed by Pancake & Franks pair perfectly with the gunmetal linen napkin and provide just the right balance of classic and edgy. The sweet finish to the setting is the charming heart paperweight accented with rope and bittersweet… a thoughtful takeaway gift for each guest. The whole look is finished with linen stripe armchairs and side chairs in grey and natural linen from H.D. Buttercup.

In order to create a soft and neutral backdrop for the dramatic sculptural piece of driftwood at the center of the table, they started with a natural table linen and a gorgeous Brahms Mount overlay. Imitating textures under the sea, they tucked Dusty Miller and vibrant orange Dahlias in the driftwood as if were organically growing there.

I love this! Just when I was looking for an inspiration for a Nautical shoot in Annapolis, this comes up! I love the muted color palette, and Jose's work is always so inspiring...

Michaela @ Hey Look on Dec 15, 2011

This is AMAZING! The color scheme, the details! I'm loving the furniture, the fabrics and textures. This entire setting is perfect. And that driftwood centerpiece is gorgeous. I've been searching the beaches here, but the baltic sea doesn't seem to be rough enough to create such pieces.

Simple, elegant and yet quite effective. I really like the stylish chairs which make the perfect contrast to rustic and raw feeling of the pier

good job rosemary and nicole! :)

Finally something different than the rustic. Very cool. Could it be that design is moving into the more artistic / minimalist style?

That blue bird cage has found itself (in a very hard part to reach) in my heart. Perfect on too many levels. Thanks for sharing!

It is so nice to see a non-vintage wedding once in awhile. Seems like that is all that is out there anymore. This is beautiful!

I LOVE this. I am born and raised in San Francisco. The city is so beautiful, and this is such a unique and amazing way to incorporate the beauty of San Francisco into someone's very special day. Amazing that they pulled this off!!! Woud love to learn how many hoops they had to jump through. Awesome, stunning idea.
