Highland Springs Resort wedding: Chelsea + Tyler

November 21, 2011

Let us preface this wedding by saying, things are going to get dirty. Like, mud fight dirty. Before that happens, let’s see what went on during the day. For instance, breakfast for dinner!  Chelsea + Tyler have shared some of their favorite dates at greasy diners on Sunday mornings, or cooking breakfast at home, so a venue that would allow pancakes with several assorted toppings, country-style potatoes, and every breakfast accessory you can think of was a must. Thankfully, the Highland Springs Resort, with its “sprawling olive groves, fields of fragrant lavender, and towering trees”, marked the spot. Breakfast at sunset with onelove Photography capturing it all is the way to go!

We can’t help but think of the history that’s taken place underneath that 1,100 year old oak tree. Just imagine all the couples throughout the ages that may have had their first kiss under it. So sweet!

This is where things get dirty…

Sure, you could have your dress cleaned after your wedding and store it in a box at the top of your attic, but…you only get married once! Go out with a bang, jump in a mud pit, then please take a shower.

From Chelsea:

Don’t plan a wedding while you are working full time and in grad school. You will turn into a crazy person! You and your fiance will disagree a lot. Compromise. Remember he’s getting married that day too. Let it go. We had a little mishap with my dress and some dirt. Everyone tried to hide it and make me feel at ease. But when they finally told me about it, it wasn’t a big deal at all. I wasn’t going to let any little detail ruin my day. We also had to decide mid-reception whether we wanted to finish visiting with the rest of the table or leave for the bouquet and garter toss. We chose to keep visiting and skipped the tosses all together. Be flexible because not everything will go as planned. You’ll still be married to the love of your life at the end of the day.
