We have another wedding treat for you today! We’re currently obsessing over the collage of ivories, whites, and red happening in Christina’s dress, so don’t mind us when we admit that we could have easily filled up this entire post with just images of her Wai-Ching dress (really, it’s that stunning). Plus, we love a bride that knows how to say ‘I Do’ in style, and husband & wife photography duo, AMERIS, who know how to capture it all flawlessly.

Christina + Brian started with a budget of $20k, and came in just under at $18k for 115 people. That stunner of a dress and Brian’s handsome suit sent them a little over budget (so worth it), but respectfully, they came in under on everything else!  Minimal flowers, letting the beautiful outdoors of Victoria BC set the scene, and picking a venue with great decor already provided allowed them to save and use their money elsewhere.

We’d love to know if she’d consider shortening the dress to wear after the wedding! Wouldn’t you?

Christina walked down the aisle to a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” played by Smashing Pumpkins.

I saved a lot of money on decor by choosing a venue like The Fireside Grill, since it did not need to be decorated much. Choosing a restaurant that had extensive experience in weddings was super helpful. The total cost I spent for decor was approx $300. I made my own centerpieces, bought silk flowers & a hot glue gun from Michael’s, glass vases & yarn from a dollar store, and made table card holders from fallen branches from the woods. My step dad cut them for me about 1 inch thick and we used blank business cards from Staples (VERY inexpensive) for the table cards themselves.

Congrats you two lovebirds!

Happy Halloween, Cakelets! Prepare to swoon over today’s wedding. It’s got all the makings of a true Latin celebration. Bold colors + festive details + lots of sweets + the MOLAA (Museum of Latin American Art) in Los Angeles. We can only imagine how much fun Christina, of Simply Modern Weddings, must have had designing around Elyzza + Michael’s Mexican and Ecuadorian cultures! Considering our current Pop-up Shop is all about honeymooning in Mexico, we couldn’t help ourselves from sharing this colorful gem, shot by Ashley Rose.

Helpful tip to know about some venues: E + M saved $1,000 on booking both the reception and garden area (where the ceremony took place) at the MOLAA by switching their date to Friday instead of Saturday!

These colorful panels with paper flowers were their place cards!

Wanting to go with something different for a guest book that they knew they could keep and use later down the road, Elyzza purchased a large traditional ceramic jarro for $80 and had guests sign it with bright pens.

For those of you who haven’t been to the Pop-Up Shop this week, thought we’d share that we have a super awesome Mexico honeymoon/getaway sale going on right now (along with the darling MaeMae), curated by Katie of Ever After Honeymoons!

Some people find planning their honeymoon to be the most exciting part of their wedding, but others are like “OMG IF I HAVE TO MAKE ONE MORE DECISION…”. We feel you. Which is why you should totally take advantage of Katie’s expertise and book one of these exclusive, discounted honeymoon packages to a few charming hotels in Mexico.

Not getting married? These trips are perfect for a spontaneous romantic getaway too! Or even a relaxing trip with your BFF. There’s really no place like Mexico to relax on the beach and put your daily life completely out of your mind. It really is a perfect vacation spot!

Pop over this weekend to start daydreaming about your next trip south of the border!
