Who stayed up (or woke up early) to watch it live? We wish Kate and Wills the happiest of marriages and lots of beautiful children to carry on the family name.

Have a great weekend everyone! We’re all out of town, enjoying spring in different places. Hope you all have a chance to do the same, even at home.

There’s no place like England for outstanding wedding guest fashion, don’t you think? A little inspiration for the weddings some of you will be attending this season. We can’t wait to see what guests are wearing on Friday!

All photography from { Caught the Light }, a most excellent photo studio in London.

And check out { Caught the Light } in our guide!

It’s wouldn’t be Royal Wedding week without a post about the awesome, and often rather nutty, souvenirs sweeping the UK at the moment. There are so many cute ones that we couldn’t resist posting a few.

Plates:

(Emma Bridgewater for BHS, Robert Ryan, KK Outlet, The House That Lars Built)

Prints and tea towels:

(Glyn West Design, Cath Kidston, The House that Lars Built, London Transport Museum, Claudia Pearson.)

Union Jack miscellany:

(La Lune Designs, chain garland, flags and tags, bunting stamp, hand cut union jack stamp, Debenhams, Belle & Boo.)

And finally (though not technically a souvenir), for those of you who really, really have the fever… maybe a royal wedding inspired invite for your own celebration!

(e.m. papers)

And if you’ve had enough of this altogether? Royal Wedding barf bags (or as they say in Royal Wedding territory, sick bags) might be your cup of tea.

Jillian spotted this adorable gift on A Field Journal that Livy made for her BF’s birthday. Isn’t it so cute and thoughtful? We thought it was perfect inspiration for the gentlemen out there! After all, attending a royal wedding requires a fancy style necktie, don’t you think? Her design is so beautiful!

We thought this shoot would get us all in the mood for planning or attending or dreaming about a modern English wedding. Putting aside the usual idea that England is gloomy, rainy & stuffy, Mary from Forever & Ever Events set out to show off the more modern, pretty, and traditionally quirky side of English bridal style, and so she teamed up with some of the best London-based wedding vendors (like photog Aneta Mak) for a gorgeous inspirational photo shoot in the historical and quirky area of Bloomsbury, London.

It’s also worth mentioning that although these vendors are based in London, most if not all will travel across the globe for clients. Good to know, right?

Though the royal weddings of yesteryear mostly featured poofy, over-the-top gowns, modern English brides actually prefer a more timeless, chic, elegant look – like these to-die-for Delphine Manivet numbers below.

When talking about UK bridal style, you can’t not talk about hats. Hats!  English women are expected to wear them at more traditional affairs, but it’s not a super strict requirement these days. That said, more and more young, hip ladies are opting to don their own unique versions of hats and hairpieces – especially at the more offbeat weddings. We love these designed by Edwina Ibbotson.

All so gorgeous. Fabulous job to everyone involved.
