We know this is a bit late in the day but it’ll be a nice treat for you early risers tomorrow. Rebecca & Kreg’s autumn Alabama wedding is a nice departure from traditional wedding styling – it’s wickedly beautiful with some very enchanting seasonal colors – warm and lustrous orangey gold and ivory with just the right amount of black. The entire thing was brilliantly styled by Proper Measures, who did a phenomenal job of keeping the balance between soft and dark romance.

The bride is truly astonishing in this beauty of a dress from J.Crew. She looks like a Grecian goddess!  The hair piece and bouquets are beyond gorgeous and just perfect for the autumn theme.

White pumpkins with dark script – so elegant. Not to mention easy and useful for so many projects – you could carve them out and use them as tealight holders, poke holes in them and turn them into twinkling candle holders, or toss mini-pumpkins in a jar with river rocks like below. Beautiful.

It just wouldn’t be Halloween without the evil mini-candy bars, and that mouth-watering dessert table is seriously devilish. The lacy black cake with the Day of the Dead-ish cake toppers is definitely a favorite.

Congrats to the newlyweds, and kudos to everyone involved for a stunning and unique event.

This always feels like the time of year when people are planning the basics of their summer and fall weddings. Early, cold evenings are perfect for huddling around the computer, writing copy and uploading pictures to your wedding website, don’t you think?

Might we recommend Wedding JoJo? They have super cute, modern, stylish templates that actually feel like your wedding vibe. And sometimes it’s hard not to be excited when all parts of your wedding match perfectly!

Their templates are customizable, they offer easy photo uploads and album sorting, their RSVP system is simple and even includes meal choices, and best of all it’s simply easy to use.

Better yet, the first FIVE PEOPLE who sign up and use the code “CAKENOV” will get their first month free. Go go go!

And finally, they’ve also launched a totally integrated honeymoon registry, registryjojo.com. Which means your guests can find a place to stay, RSVP, and gift you a day of scuba diving in Bora Bora all at the same time. Check it out!

It’s here, people. It’s here. Our big baby has finally been birthed. And we are sooooo excited! We were planning to wait a few days for the official announcement but it looks like the cat’s out of the bag, so here we go!

Just a quick rundown of our site features, for the curious:

The Marketplace:
Where you can buy and sell pieces of your wedding and post/bid on vendor requests. Vendor requests are posted by brides (say, floral arrangements for 12 tables), and bid on by vendors. Vendors have their own portfolios on our site that brides can review before accepting a bid. We think it’s an awesome way for brides and vendors who might not normally connect, to get together and create something beautiful!

DIY Resources:
A list of our DIY projects, plus our directory of the best online resources for crafting your own wedding.

Vendors + Venue:
Our comprehensive list of vendor portfolios, that anyone can join for just $100 a year. It’s the vendor guide for everyone! And don’t forget to check our A-List, where you can see our picks for the most interesting, talented, unique vendors in the industry.

We’ll be doing more extensive posts on each section in the coming weeks, but that should be enough to get you going!

We want to thank you, loyal readers, for being a part of our beginnings! And we have all sorts of other goodies to add to our site in the new year. This really is just the start.

Nicki & Roni are a cute as a button couple, and we can’t deny their wedding day was anything but. Organized by event planners (and bridesmaids!) Cait and Jules and photographed by the super duper talented Our Labor of Love, this is one event you guys are gonna love – if not for the rustic yet chic vibe, then for the irresistible personal touches brought in from their sweet love story. You see, Roni proposed to Nicki at the very same Manhattan Upper East Side post office where they first met three years earlier – hence the adorbs mail box table numbers and escort cards in airmail envelopes. Does it GET any cuter?

Let’s take a little look, shall we?

Flowers collected at the New York City wholesale market added to the whimsical feel of the day – don’t they look like freshly picked wildflowers? Simply beautiful.

Their cool invitations were a collaboration between Nicki and Roni. Roni did the design and production, while Nicki contributed the handwritten elements. Love the collaboration you too!

Oh this carriage is just perfect! Straight out of a fairytale.

Ronicki!  Love these little straw flags.

Jars were a simple but elegant theme throughout the entire event. The candlelit jars strung about the tent were planned by Cait and Jules, who reached out to family and friends to begin saving and collecting jars months before the big day. Nicki & Roni walked in on their wedding day and were completely surprised by the beautiful labor of love!

Nicki’s musician Dad gave a heart-melting performance of a song he wrote just for his daughter on her wedding day. Bonus – he enlisted the help of his 70s rock buddies to provide music for everyone to boogie down to the rest of the night.

What a fun and fabulous day! Thanks for letting us share it, Nicki & Roni, congrats and best wishes for a gorgeous life together!
