Forest wedding in Portland

Happy day-before-Thanksgiving, friends! How dreamy is this shot by Jonnie + Garrett? Tall trees and lots of green were Abby + Jordan’s wedding must-haves, considering how much they love the great outdoors. But even though they wanted to keep things simple and intimate (she wanted a small wedding, and he a large, so they compromised with 130 guests) and planned the whole thing in 6 months, it’s certainly not lacking in details. Oh, and did we mention they did it all for less than 12K?

Some words from the photographers, Jonnie + Garrett, Their wedding day was full of intimate moments with family, friends and most importantly, each other. One of our favorite memories was Jordan’s sweet song he played for Abby during their first look. We ended their wedding weekend with bridal portraits at one of their favorite waterfalls, Wahclella Falls. We are lucky to work with couples who aren’t afraid to get a little dirt on their wedding attire. There may be a hike, some water and a little mud but we can guarantee some epic photographs in the end!

Abby explains, My biggest piece of advice would be try your best to not let the little things stress you out. We had so many little things go wrong right before the wedding and I was a huge stress case over it. The crazy thing was that when the day came I woke up early in the morning just so at peace and so overcome with joy. Why? Because I realized I didn’t care about all those little things. All I cared about was that I would get to walk down the aisle and marry my very best friend, my most favorite person in the world, the person I would get to spend forever with. When your big day comes, that’s what you will realize.
