Rustic southern fall wedding: Connor + Ben

November 18, 2015

Would you believe us if we said this isn’t a fall wedding editorial? Yeah, Connor + Ben’s rustic wedding was just that incredible. They’d seen Connor’s sister say I Do at Thistle Springs Ranch in Texas a few weeks before he proposed and even though they perused other venues, the space stuck out in their minds for their wedding too. (Believe us, you’ll see why.) Connor’s mom helped them plan an earthy + organic day with a dusty berry color story that’s srsly worthy of channeling for your own events…

Connor says, The best part about Thistle Springs Ranch is the family that owns it. The Wright family goes above and beyond for all of their couple’s and makes the wedding process and the wedding day seamless and so easy! They genuinely care about the families they are working with and do everything they can to ensure that your wedding day is everything you can imagine!

Go ahead and write this color palette down, cakies: plum, mauve, deep burgundy, dusty rose—all translated through the hues in the ‘maids’ Free People dresses + flowers that Ann Wright (one of the owners of the venue) dreamed up with flowers from Iceland and Africa.

A sweet moment Connor shared… At the venue, the bridal suite is upstairs, so in order to keep me hidden from Ben before the ceremony, I was held upstairs in my room literally until I walked down the aisle. The whole day there had been so many people around. I had a blast getting ready with all of my bridesmaids, my amazing mom who had made the whole day possible, and the rest of my (very large, the guest list was 180) family that had all made it to the wedding! But when the ceremony was about to begin, everyone hugged me and left, and I was alone in the suite. Finally, my dad came in and while we waited to be summoned downstairs for our big walk down the aisle, we just enjoyed being together, just the two of us. He told me how beautiful I looked and how proud of me he was, and in that moment, I did everything in my power not to let myself cry off all my makeup. I come from an extremely close family, and my dad has always been my hero. Sharing that sweet minute or so with him wasn’t a moment that I had planned, but it ended up being one of the most special moments from the wedding day.

Congratulations C + B!
