Our homes for the holidays with Landmark Vineyards

December 19, 2018

Between Amanda’s home tour, Jillian’s kitchen makeover, and Kristina’s girl’s 1st, we’ve shared many a peek into team 100LC’s homes over the past year or so. Today, we’re sharing how we each decorate when it comes time to cozy them up for the holidays. And because a bottle of vino or two is a must at any holiday table, our friends at Landmark Vineyards helped us find the perfect pairings for each of our styles. We’ve long-loved Landmark for entertaining, so we’ll talk more about our two faves below (a white and a red, of course), and their pretty labels (admittedly, that’s always part of the equation…) round out an elegant holiday spread. First up, Jillian’s holiday abode…

Jillian has a modern California style that includes lots of natural tones, black and white, and bold patterns. When decorating for the holidays, she suggests adding in greens of *all* shades (not just one type!) to add depth to your arrangements. And don’t forget some battery operated twinkle lights to cozy up the space.

No need for over-the-top arrangements here! The table is still so festive and inviting.

BTW, this cute wood bead garland is from Tarjay. The ultimate no-fuss ‘scape, if you ask us.

You’ll never see us throw a party without both a red and white wine for guests to choose from, and Landmark Vineyards Overlook Chardonnay is our white of choice. Even when we don’t have a holiday festivity planned, per se, we all keep it in our entertaining arsenal *just in case*. The Overlook is one of the top 100 wines in the world—one of only seven chardonnays to make the list. If you love a good balanced chardonnay, this one is both savory and sweet, layered and clean.

Landmark Vineyards Overlook Chardonnay tasting notes: Pale lemon yellow, with aromas of ripe lemon, yellow apple, pineapple and toasted oak. Balanced and layered on the entry with ripe lemon, green apple and grilled ripe pineapple with attractive smoky oak and vanilla barrel notes. The crisp mid-palate shows savory chamomile flower and a pleasant mineral texture with sustained fruit that continues through the clean, textured finish.

Our resident Chardonnay taster, Jillian, approves! Now, let’s take a peek at Amanda’s home for the holidays…

Holiday home decor Amanda’s home is filled with light neutral touches and textures mixed with black and white, and her holiday decorating is no different. Pair that with a fab sequin dress and bare feet at home next to the fire with friends and you definitely have a chic little party!

Our holiday red of choice is Landmark Vineyards Overlook Pinot Noir, a tasty pinot sourced from 13 premium cool climate vineyards in California. This is a medium bodied wine that pairs with both casual fare and elevated holiday meals. And bonus… Its pretty plum hue is a spectacular match for holiday tables!

Amanda says, This is our first Christmas in our newly renovated home, with an oak fireplace mantle (!) so naturally I had to deck it out with festive greenery, our patterned stockings, bottle brush trees and a string of wooden beads. You can layer many textures in your home when you’re working with neutrals. Layering makes it feel all the more festive and warm.

If you know Kristina, you know she’s all about that minimal, natural style with a Scandi vibe. She gives it a warm holiday feel with natural textures and lots of white.

Can you say hygge?

Kristina says, The holiday season is so festive and fun, but also a little frenzied with all of the parties and school activities and craft projects going on in my house. This year, in order to maintain a small bit of calm and sanity at home, I opted for a minimal decor strategy with light colors and just a few festive touches.

She always includes some foraged flora in her decor, whether it be for a place setting or a wild looking arrangement.

Landmark Vineyards Overlook Pinot Noir tasting notes: The 2016 Overlook Pinot Noir Light is plum color in the glass with complex aromas of red and black cherry, ripe raspberry with cinnamon and subtle vanilla spice, cedar, dried orange peel, leather, cocoa, with a hint of purple flowers. The palate is medium bodied with slightly more black fruit of cherry and ripe raspberry fruit and baking spice on entry leading to a more savory, crisp mid-palate featuring attractive mineral, and earth notes with sustained barrel spice. The fresh finish continues with balanced, grippy tannins and hints of cherry and berry hard candy notes.
