Earthy bohemian garden wedding inspiration

Spring bridal bouquet

Guys, are you as smitten as we are with the spring garden meets wild bohemian vibe in this photo by Kendra of Little Blue Bird Photography? Erin of Sage Green Events whipped up that bouquet on site! She and art director + designer Margaret Hess made sure to keep everything modern and intimate as they drew inspiration from the raw, earthy elements of their woodsy backyard space.

Dreamiest garden backdrop, right? The ethereal gown is Desiree Spice.

Our goal was to take things that had been seen before and pair with them with something new or use them in a new way—a floral tie for the groom, for example—or beautiful calligraphy written on a tree instead of a sign post. We wanted to showcase the beauty in raw earthy elements (like raw wood, uncut Herkimer diamonds, fur rugs, the trees, greenery and blooms, organic cotton, and various marbles and stone textures) by paring these with more modern styles currently trending in home decor (geometry shapes, macrame, and mixed metals).

Aways so many beautiful uses for that Anthro macrame table runner.

We felt that the contrast between a more dark and moody photographic style and a spring styled shoot made for an interesting twist on the norm as well. We chose beautiful contrasting colors—shiny metallic golds and coppers, peaches, creams, and subdued greens paired with deep blues, purples and reds that really made each color pop.
