Kinfolk meets dutch still life wedding inspiration

January 30, 2017

How about some moody vibes for your Monday? This shoot planned + styled by Kelsey Mattson was all about designing a wedding scene with luxurious details and Dutch still life-inspired colors, that still had a natural Kinfolk-esque feel to it. She enlisted Sarah Culver to document all the rich tones and moody shadows throughout their barn vignette.

PS: Don’t forget to grab the cocktail recipe at the end of this post!

Srsly romantic paper pretties by Townley Creative.

And did we mention all the groom’s fashion inspo this one has, too? This suit is Christopher Schaffer Clothier.

Kelsey says, The jewel tones, lush, unkempt florals, and messy linens were pulled from Dutch still life paintings, and wild greens like smilax paired with mismatched chairs kept it all feeling very natural and “unstyled”. Using hand-dyed silks and linens, pewter accents and classic blue and white china made for a sumptuous shoot that played off of Harwood‘s historic farm perfectly!

The artistic but natural look on the table is absolutely stunning in our opinions!

The crew also sent along a signature cocktail recipe to go with this vibe… Scroll down to see:

The Goldfinch (named after painting of the same name by Dutch artist Carel Fabritius)
1 tsp Creme de Violette
3 oz Sweet Blossom Mead
1.5 oz Prosecco

Add Violette and mead to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top off with Prosecco and garnish with a lemon twist.
