When you’re defining your wedding day style, you can really get as specific as you want. On a weekly basis, we hear all kinds of lovely descriptions from ‘rustic elegance’ to ‘understated glamour.’ But it’s not everyday you hear “Hemingway’s beach house in Cuba, but transplanted to La Jolla, with a bit of Moroccan flair as an added bonus”—which is how Michelle and Gareth describe their wedding aesthetic. Well, whatever you want to call it, we like what we see. Thanks Jill Thomas for capturing it all on camera!

Michelle says, Gareth and I both agree that our favorite part of the day was hanging out with our bridesmaids and groomsmen before and during the wedding. Our best friends are spread out all over the U.S. and it’s nearly impossible to get everyone together. So when you have this group of people that you truly love the most and all of them are in one place together, it creates some of the fondest memories.
My advice to all future brides would be not to stress out so much. I have a feeling this is falling on deaf ears (I know I felt the same way when I was given this exact same advice), but truly, don’t worry so much about THE WEDDING. Seriously, no one is going to realize if one little thing goes wrong or if it’s not entirely perfect. Just try and appreciate what is happening and try to tone it down a bit. Also, write your thank you notes as soon as you start receiving gifts, it’s much easier that way!
