What do you get when you combine a beautiful historic mansion and meticulously manicured gardens with true love? The latest styled shoot from Ashley Weddings and Events & Stacey Able Photography. Inspired by their love for travel and the handsome lovebirds in the shoot (a real couple btw), they created this dreamy shoot to celebrate the renewal of Liz + JD’s nuptials. They created the romantic and timeless atmosphere, Liz + JD made the sparks fly.
To begin, the couple was handed their signature champagne cocktail to cool off in the summer sun. The cocktail was a generous portion of prosecco, softened with an elder flower liqueur. Garnished with a fresh cool cucumber slice and edible bloom, it was almost too pretty to drink!
From tissue paper, we created fun, frilly tassels accented with scraps of map paper to tie them together. We strung them on the guests chairs for a fun, added texture.
The desserts consisted of a variety of worldly treats; the ever so dainty French Macaroons, Belgium Stroop Waffles, Italian Cream Cake, mini American pie’s and selected candies straight off the plane from Holland.
Our goal was to tie in the elements and feel of Irwin Gardens. Our theme, which was a mixture of Old World Travel and Glamorous romance, meshed well with the formal and antique atmosphere of the mansion. Some of our DIY projects included assembling paper globes out of old maps and card stock, strung among the terrace wall behind the dinning table. In love with succulents, we couldn’t get enough! We accented the cake, guests seats and other areas with the hearty plants. We used maps from our own travels around the world, to add accents and little details to all of our projects. We had a amazing time creating this wonderful, inspired shoot. Our models, being husband and wife, made the romantic chemistry unreal!
