Romantic farm wedding: Andie + Bo

Categories   Real Weddings

Happy Monday, Cakelets! We can’t decide who’s luckier: Andie + Bo, for scoring the Glendeven Inn in Mendocino for their wedding, complete with a llama pasture and the cutest bunch of baby animals, or Feather Love Photography for being able to capture it all. Take a look at these stellar images and you be the judge.

Good thing they were prepared for the rain with those cute polka dot umbrellas!

We’re obsessing over those gold Kate Spade bow rings too!

Total bummer that no one got to see the beribboned maypole Andie + Bo designed as the alter because of the last minute addition of a rain tent for the ceremony.

Enter handsome llamas and the cutest of baby animals, check.

Would you believe us if we told you that by the end of the night Andie’s Oscar de la Renta gown ended up with about a foot of mud on the hem? Luckily, there is no photo of this. Not sure we’d be able to handle!

The mismatched vintage silver tea sets used for the flower arrangements were all purchased from Etsy and eBay by Andie and her mother, all dating from the 1920’s to 1960’s. Many had beautiful old monograms, some had a little wobble and others with leaky spouts, but that just added to their charm.

From Andie:

I bought the vintage cake topper from Etsy. When it arrived I found a handwritten note tucked into the base from the couple who had originally owned it – with their wedding date, 1945. Bo and I loved that we were sharing our wedding with this unnamed couple from so long ago, and we added our wedding date to the note too in hopes one day another couple will do the same.

Thanks so much for sharing Andie + Bo’s wedding with us Noa!

Beautiful photography! And I do have to say any wedding that has both goats and donuts is a winner in my book! In fact I think that is currently trending in a big way. Sometimes I'm like "I've had it with all the goats and dunuts! Can we move on to something new like Koalas and fried chicken?

Laura on Aug 15, 2011

I am in love with the bride's bow necklace as well...where is it from?!

I was immediately drawn to the cake, but when I read the note about the vintage cake topper - wow. How insanely romantic and beautiful is that?

This was one of the most special weddings we have ever worked on. Not only were Andie & Bo spectacular to work with, but they have excellent taste and extraordinary generosity. They shared it all so nicely with their guests. It was a pleasure to share this day. Oh, and the peonies and antique roses... swoon!

Jacquelyn on Aug 16, 2011

Everything is beautiful!

Nancy Puder on Aug 16, 2011

Andie, just got back from UPS, said good-bye to the silver teapots.... was kinda hoping you forgot all about them. Fat chance. Now we're going to need to invest time and $$ to replicate your wedding fare for the hordes of brides to want the same look. So far I've found a few in the cupboard from my mother-in-law's wedding, circa 1935, 93 to go. Thank you for your generous spirit and unflappable grace. You were so present for every moment; rain, mud, drooping ribbons, drenched locks.... smiles remained and you glowed. Make sure to call us for the anniversaries! Give us enough time and we'll find Koalas and mini zebras. Nancy Mendocino Floral Design

Sonya Houston on Aug 16, 2011

Oh Andie & Bo this is priceless! I so enjoyed every minute of the planning of your amazing day! Your grace and happiness was contagous and I will remember this celebration for many years to come. As Nancy mentioned, " rain, mud, drooping ribbons, drenched locks…. smiles remained and you glowed," this is so true and the day was perfect with all the challenges that we encountered and through it all you SMILED and the images show how blissful you both were sealed with a I kiss and an I DO!! xoxo
