Charming vintage Alabama wedding: Anna Beth + Pat

Categories   Real Weddings

Nothing too frilly or too rustic – just a laid back memorable and enjoyable day for family and friends with just the right amount of vintage charm. That’s how Anna Beth + Pat wanted their big day to play out. Just outside of their town in Alabama, these two began the first day of the rest of their lives among the beautiful grounds, old antebellum home and courtyard of Keisel Park in Auburn. With a venue like this the photo possibilities were endless! There to capture it all was the lovely & talented Heather Hester.

Anna Beth found her gown online, and without even having tried it on or seeing it in person, she put in the order, picked it up and just like that it fit like a glove! If we could all be so lucky, right?

Helping to keep costs low and decor minimal, they purchased vases, bottles, and the antique mantle that served as their alter at thrift stores.

Anna Beth combined gorgeous antique brooches from flea markets and family members to create her bouquet.

Another money saver: Ordering all of the fresh flowers from a local flower wholesaler and arranging them themselves & using “loaned” flowers from a friend who owns a nursery. Some of the potted plants and ferns that were used as decor were purchased and given to family and wedding party as gifts.

Most of the decor were heirlooms borrowed from family and friends (everything from the lace table runners to the milk glass cake stands and vintage suitcases). Anna Beth’s aunt made their cake (strawberry, for all you sweet toothers out there). The other cakes in the brides room were made by her aunts, Pat’s grandmother, and her grandmother.

We’re dying over the lighting in the above image of their first dance. The new Mr. and Mrs. stole everyone’s heart by dancing to “First Day of My Life” by Bright eyes.

I agree, I wish we could find out more about the dresses, they are so beautiful!

Anna Beth on Jul 27, 2011

Thanks everyone! the bridesmaids dresses were from the Limited Wedding line. They were actually discontinued before we even got them all ordered, but they helped us out and made a couple more! My dress is an Allure bridal gown, I found it on the Allure website. Thanks again :)

Beautiful! It looks like a neat venue!

Liz on Jul 28, 2011

I would love to know what the color of the bridesmaid dresses was called?? Cafe?? I'm looking for a similar color, but don't know what they 'label' it!

Anna Beth on Jul 28, 2011

@Nancy: The photo booth was very easy and inexpensive and the guest had a lot of fun with it! My friend who designed the invites and programs helped with it. She painted an old frame and chalk board and hung the frame from a tree. She took the pictures herself. It was Pat's idea to let guests write a message on the chalkboard... it was a big hit and we loved seeing the pictures with everyone's messages later!

Cheryl on Aug 8, 2011

Hello! May I know which online store did you get your dress from? Thanks!

Mary on Sep 27, 2011

I love everything about this. A few questions: (1) How many people did the pavilion sit? (2) How did you make your entrance? Did you just not worry about people seeing you before you came down the aisle? (3) Did you have music playing during the ceremony? THANKS!

I was out shopping for dresses today and fell in love with your dress! Any chance you are willing to sell it or lend it for cost? It would be perfect! :)

He is in Korea for a year, and I am eager to get this wedding planning done before he returns next march as our wedding in June 15th of 2013! I LOVE, and NEED the dress you wore! I went onto the allure bridals website but it won't let me order it online. Can you help me? -Angie Your wedding was BEAUTIFUL!
