An ice cream parlor reception

April 12, 2011

With summer fast approaching, we thought you’d like some tasty inspiration for your wedding or event, to cool down your guests and serve them something delicious they’ll never forget! Jillian put together this super cute inspiration shoot for an ice cream parlor reception, and enlisted our friend Jenna for her calligraphic magic. The color scheme was inspired by our Dapper & Dandy colorboard from last week, and serves as a more sophisticated take on the ice cream bar. The ice cream and accoutrements are from a local grocer. Jillian wrapped the ice cream with a cute graphic to personalize. All props are from a local antique shop called Fork & Pencil in Brooklyn. Ladies don’t be shy, ask if your local antique shop will loan you the goods for your upcoming event. In some cases they’ll rent them to you for 25% of the cost of goods. Huge savings here!

Now lets dive in, how yummy is this? Love the unexpected drama.

Wouldn’t this be the most delicious alternative to a traditional afternoon reception? Choose a few flavors, a mix of sweet and savory toppings, some fun syrups to drizzle on top and voilá! You’ll save a bundle on food and get a million cute points for style.

Or if you want to go big, roll this out after dinner and your guests will be raving about it forever!

We’ve got a few projects to share from this shoot later in the week too. Yummm.
