Guest Blogger: Snippet & Ink

Categories   Wedding Inspiration

Hello fellow 100 Layer Cake readers! Kathryn here from Snippet & Ink, I’m so excited to be guest blogging this week while Kristina is out enjoying time with her new baby boy.

I love playing with colors, seeing if I can make predictable color palettes new, or pairing colors that might not seem obvious together. Pink and green is still a favorite for weddings, and I imagine it always will be, but it can come across as saccharine and unsophisticated. Black tones down the sweetness, and makes it all look chic.

Palette: melon-mint green, pale grapefruit pink, black avocado

Top row from left: still life with grapefruit and avocado by Arjan Benning via concrete and honey, green Vera Wang gown from Charleston Weddings, mint green boxes from Ladurée
Row 2: pink rose centerpiece by Ariella Chezar, shoes under cloche from Lonny
Row 3: dahlia photo by Erin Hearts Court, black table with pink bow ties from Martha Stewart Weddings, pale mint green dress via Dress Design Decor
Row 4: salty dog cocktails by Matt Bites, flea market invite by Bird & Banner, anemone bouquet by Ariella Chezar

What a pretty, pretty palette. I love the freshness of it, especially the mint green... it's so perfect for spring. And I like how the black gives it that unexpected, sophisticated edge. Lovely, lovely board!

Beautiful! I love the touch of black, which ties in with the grooms' wear and makes it a little less feminine. Thanks for sharing!

Oh I'm so pleased you featured this - I've just bought my wedding dress, a sage green fitted and fishtailed gown from coast with a very vintage looking black sash tied in a big bow at the back..........I might add some pink to the room decor to make it complete. Dress from Coast! x
