Happy almost weekend, Cakies! It’s been a minute since we’ve posted a bridal bouquet recipe here on le blog, and when we caught sight of this lovely arrangement by Lisa of Sweet Woodruff, we knew there would be questions about it. Plus, the bridal shoot Mango Studios shared along with it was is the ultimate lesson in the power of simplicity…

Liza of Mango Studios explains, As creatives, we often need to step back, remove the distractions, and see how simple choices can fuel and revive our creativity. This ethereal inspiration shoot was first inspired by the gorgeous Michelle Hebert wedding dress… We didn’t want the details or the backdrop to compete for attention so Toronto’s Scarborough Bluff’s minimalistic gray rocks with soft, romantic light were the perfect choice. The water ripples and the sand’s texture complements the dress’ layers framing it beautifully in a simple shot. A delicate floral arrangement by Sweet Woodruff echoes the floral elements of the dress reminding us that beauty is all about harmony.

Creating an ethereal bridal ensemble like the above is definitely all about a few select details.

Simplicity in photography gives a way for emotions and mood to come through. Think about those wedding photographs that leave a lasting impression on you. They might have great composition, tone or light, but the reason they stick with you are the emotions those images evoke.

And the recipe…
