Morning, friends! Casie Marie Photography + the team at RW Events sent this Spanish-inspired restaurant editorial our way with the goal to inspire couples near and far for an unconventional wedding. Being that Orlando is such a popular destination, it’s easy to get caught up in trendy venues and touristy themes. But with a space like Reyes Mezcaleria, they brought the community together to prove that yep, different *can* be done, so get out and find those local gems!

Clearly this place is a stunner. Here’s the scoop: This shoot was thoroughly inspired by Reyes Mezcaleria, a new local Mexican restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Orlando, with an awesome interior aesthetic designed by owner Sue Chin. Every aspect of the shoot was an ode to the restaurant’s personality and decor. We wanted to create an earthy and casual vibe to reflect the atmosphere of Reyes. It also doubled as a celebration of summer solstice—evoking the bright energy of the sun, using it as a decorative motif (can be seen in placemats, fireplace rug, and wooden room divider).

This spectacular wedding cake by Bakers Cottage Cakes featured textures, patterns, and paintings all seen throughout the venue, and each tier mirrored different pieces of decor, from the fireplace tile to the yarn hanging to the wall pattern and bar design.

We’re also enamored with the Yolan Cris ‘Retama’ dress from Something New Bridal Boutique and summery makeup by Laura Reynolds Artistry on their bride.

This entire emerald, terracotta, and orange color story is so unexpected and pretty.

When we learned that some of the restaurant’s plateware was created by a local ceramist, Kim Sager (owner of Thrown By Hand), we knew we had to involve her somehow. She created an array of ceramic bowls as gifts for guests that could be used for little trinkets.

They also incorporated handwritten tile place cards, linen napkins created from craft store fabric, and a hand-painted backdrop for their room divider. See the rest of the details in our gallery:
