Elegant wedding inspiration at New Santa Ynez wedding venue: Brave and Maiden Estate
So, this gorgeous wedding editorial we’re sharing today is extra special because it’s in celebration of a brand new California wedding venue, officially open for biz. Eeeee! Brave and Maiden is the latest project from Hospitality Collaborative, the crew behind roomforty, Pharmacie + two fave SoCal venues, Fig House and The Harper. We’re forever fans of founder Steve Fortunato’s work, so we can’t wait to check it out ourselves!
We’ve got more details about this Santa Ynez venue as you scroll through the sneak peaks Braedon Photography sent our way.
This pretty spot is the new winery and event venue in Santa Barbara wine country. If you have your wedding there, you’ll gain access to the whole place—including the tasting room and barrel room, plus a bridal suite.

Often with winery venues, guests have to choose between great wine or a great venue. This property offers some of the very best, in both categories. Critically acclaimed winemaker Paul Hobbs was the consulting winemaker on this project, and in collaboration with the estate’s winemaker Joshua Clapper, Hobbs and Clapper have created one of Santa Ynez Valley’s top Bordeaux wine programs (their Merlot is single-handedly pushing back against the bad rap associated with California Merlot).
The major perk to having Hospitality Collaborative’s support alongside the project was their mission to build a space that wasn’t just a winery that opens its doors to weddings, but having weddings in mind every step of the way. One example is the inclusion of a full catering kitchen (no spendy kitchen rentals needed!) and a private apartment that’s not just for getting ready, but lodging too.
For design and architecture, the winery tapped Backen and Gillam, the firm behind some of the state’s most celebrated wineries, including Harlan Estate. Building a facility that worked with the surrounding landscape and respecting the natural beauty of the valley was important for all involved. The design of the facilities accomplished that beautifully. Both the buildings and the grounds are stunning. Whether for a nature-surrounded ceremony under the oak tree among the vineyards, a more formal setting by the olive tree ceremony circle overlooking the vineyard, a reception in the olive grove, or a rehearsal dinner in the stunning yet comfortable tasting room, there are so many beautiful settings to choose from on this property.
We are v. into this as a reception look, BTW.
So, how many guests can Brave and Maiden accommodate? It’s ideal for intimate weddings with up to 80 guests, which we kinda love. It’s perfect for the couple who wants to emphasize great food AND great wine, which roomforty has been all about for 14 years.
This venue’s bound to be a good one, dontcha think?
