Italian mountain elopement in the Dolomites

If you follow our insta, you might’ve seen this cutie sneak peek of the shoot Elisabetta of Lilly Red Creative and Benevent Planner are sharing today. Together they took on the challenge of finding a location that’s ideal for a summer wedding—somewhere not too hot, and not riddled with tourists during Italy’s busiest months. Enter the Italian Dolomites, the mountain range forming into the Great Alps. With the idyllic Braies Lake and a sweet mountain alpaca ranch as their elopement locale, we’d definitely say they accomplished their mission. Take a peek!

We brought wild, bohemian vibes with us for Hannah and Hanes, our beautiful couple from Linz, Austria. She was wearing a beautiful gown from Rue de Seine. The wild dress perfectly matched the bouquet, composed of both dry and fresh flowers. The bouquet was wrapped with a white leather fringe, handmade for this occasion and definitely gave a beautiful movement to the photos.

We held the ceremony at Braies Lake, known for its emerald waters. We decided to keep everything simple to let the stunning scenery and views of the lake be our backdrops. To design the ceremony area, we used a coconut carpet with a boho flair, combined with vases filled with dried flowers to follow the style of the bouquet. On our table, we used a dreamcatcher under the wooden dishes as a place setting. The centerpiece was a tribute to dried flowers and complemented with candles. A special bear ornament was placed to remind us of the history of these mountains.

The team shares that it’s become more common to find alpacas in the mountains that have been introduced from abroad. They’re super curious and playful, which is probably why you see them popping up in so many wedding shoots as of late. Kinda the cutest trend, no? See more animals in weddings here!

The vision for the Dolomites was based on wanting to bring to Italy, the same trend that it’s happening in USA—eloping in the wild and unexplored areas. Scouting a place that we had never been before to find the perfect spot wasn’t easy. We drove nearly 900 miles in three days, going to explore different sites and hearing about different spots from tourists and locals. If you believe in what you are doing, even when it’s hard to do, the determination will give way to success and seeing your results! The awesome photographs and amazing experience are proof of that.
