We feel incredibly lucky to have come across Mel O'Connell and share our amazing engagement and wedding experience with her. Her creativity, responsiveness, flexibility, sense of fun, and INCREDIBLE talent have allowed us to have the most memorable, beautiful, candid photographs. Any time I post one online, or show one to a friend, all I hear is gushing: "That picture is just gorgeous! Your photographer is amazing! Those look straight out of a magazine!" We cannot say enough what a pleasure it has been to work with Mel. If you are looking for photos that reflect your personality, that are full of life and character, and that preserve the joy and excitement of your wedding, there is no one better. The price was completely reasonable, but given the quality and breadth of the photos and the fun relationship we built with her, she totally undercharged!!

We were so pleased with Fresh Photography! Melissa took beautiful images and was so easy to work with. We felt really comfortable having her around, it almost felt like she wasn't there; I think that's how she was able to capture such incredible, candid shots. Her style is really unique so if you're looking for something posed and more traditional, she might not be the person for you. But if you are looking for something naturally different and original, she does a wonderful job! We have received many compliments on our pictures!

First and foremost, hire Mel. She is a steal, uber-talented, fun to work with, and always full of creative ideas. That girl is going places. On the wedding day, Mel was completely professional, had arrived early to scout the best locations, was prepared, and helped me relax - when i found out the DJ was going to be an hour late as i was getting ready, she made me laugh and get excited again. She got every shot and more that I wanted. She excels at the photojournalistic style and I absolutely love all the candids that she got. We did posed family pictures as well, but the candids are my favorite. Her style is non-intrusive - she uses the phrase 'photo-ninja' to describe herself and it is the truth! I got more photos from that day than I can look through in one sitting - hundreds and hundreds. Her editing style is unique and beautiful. Her blog is a great representation of the types of photos she takes. She really captures personality, which I love. She had photos for us to look at within two weeks of the wedding, and delivered all of them after we returned from our honeymoon (about 4 weeks after the wedding day). I can honestly say that I was not disappointed in any aspect of working with her. She has SO many creative ideas and, most importantly, you can tell how much she truly cares about giving you the kind of photos and memories that you want from your wedding day.
