Alysha + Henry both relocated with their families to Georgia from the west coast back in 2004, but didn’t meet until years later through a mutual friend. They found out they’d actually been crossing paths all those years (!!!) and instantly connected. Naturally they wanted to embrace the place that brought them together, so they found a rural venue with horses and a big oak tree and booked it for their three and a half year anniversary. Alysha says, Our big day presented itself with the blessing of perfect weather; it was happily sunny with a delicate breeze. The overarching oak tree fulfilled its role as a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony as it stood against the sunset. I was driven down to the ceremony in a red and white vintage 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Before I even stepped out of the car, I saw that Henry had surprised me. He and each of his groomsmen were playing their guitars (except for Sean who was playing the cajon!). I stepped out of the car and began walking down to the ceremony with my Dad as the music played. When I began walking down the aisle and Henry happily wept, that is the moment we will cherish forever.
They kept their guest list under 30 so they could focus on their promise and the meaning of the day.
I am truly grateful to Henry and our team of family and friends who so creatively and generously decorated the entire wedding for us with so much whimsical charm… It was very special to us to be wed the day of our three and a half year anniversary. Our wedding was simple yet elegant, romantic and whimsical. But most of all it was made memorable purely by the promises that Henry and I made in our handwritten vows to each other to always love selflessly. We are so excited to love and support each other all the days of our lives!
