Modern foodie wedding at the Fig House

Remember at the very beginning of this year when we announced our Crate and Barrel wedding giveaway that featured a wedding prize package with some of our very fave industry talents? Well, winners Michelle + Joshua tied the knot over at The Fig House this fall (cue applause!), and the time has come to share all the pretty photos Heather Kincaid captured. Yay! These foodies (who met on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel, naturally) got to work with Robin of RO & Co. EventsOf The Flowers, and Prim & Pixie to design their dream LA wedding. What’s more, the talented culinary crew at Room Forty offered up the ultimate foodie experience for these two. What a day!

Whimsical, colorful bouquet recipe alert! Of The Flowers sure knew how to match the tone of the venue with pops of pinks, oranges, corals, and greens.

Robin took inspiration from both the couples’ foodie history (it’s how they bonded on each of their dates) and Fig House’s art gallery walls and splashes of color.

Flowers and fruit = the ultimate colorful tablescape.

Clean lines and modern elements were carried through all the goodies Prim & Pixie provided.

Design details from RO & Co. Events: Food was something that brought Michelle and Joshua together in the first place and their adventures in love and food became a central theme of their wedding day. After all, Michelle is a food blogger, so it’s kind of her job to go on culinary adventures and find amazing bites! Joshua has been right there next to her to join in the fun of researching the best spots. The couple developed a dinner menu with Room Forty that represented key moments of their relationship and displayed the dinner in an array of food stations to allow guests to go on their own culinary journey. The cheese station represented their first date together. The tostada station was a nod to their first challenge to each other: find the best Mexican food in the city! Their guests had a wonderful time sampling a variety of dishes that helped to tell the story of the couple. We couldn’t help having a little fun with Prim & Pixie as we developed the escort display that made a bold visual AND culinary statement to tie all of the design details together. Heather Kincaid captured all of the pretty details beautifully!

And how cool is this modern geometric ceremony backdrop?

Michelle tells it, The biggest hurdle for us was who to invite, and to overcome that, I sought the advice of my friends who were also recently married. The best advice someone gave to me was “if you haven’t had an authentic relationship with them over the past year, don’t feel an obligation to invite them.” And that advice really resonated with me, because the ones that attended our wedding are people that made an impact on our lives, and individuals that will be part of our lives forever.

Each dessert station was inspired by a different date!

The most memorable moment of the day for me is when my dad walked me down the aisle. My dad has always been my strongest supporter, and the rock of my family. He has always been the type of dad that was rational, understanding, and never emotional. So seeing him walk me down the aisle teary eyed was so special for me!

Django Foxtrot of Dart Collective was another amazing vendor M + J were introduced to through our Crate and Barrel giveaway. So perfect for the occasion!
