Modern DIY Hamptons wedding: Rosie + Evan
When Rosie + Evan plan an event together, they like there to be casual sophistication and fun. Which, from these shots by City Love Photography, totally describes their big day. And Rosie’s amaze two-piece floral gown. She’s Associate Creative Director at Trollbäck + Company, he’s Design Director at Elle Magazine, and being design-savvy they were able to pull of lots of polished DIY projects and transform the blank slate that is Gansett Green Manor into a casual, elegant 90-guest fête.
On the venue, Rosie says, The fact that our friends and family could stay on the property together the entire weekend was a huge selling point for us. The open configuration of the space allowed us to create a customizable experience. Also the owners Jed and Leslie were extremely accommodating and a pleasure to work with.

Our biggest hurdle was sourcing the vendors as the space was an empty canvas. The best tip we can offer is to search long and hard for hungry, enthusiastic and passionate people who share your taste level and values. If you are planning the event yourself, it is invaluable to have trustworthy people collaborating with you. Also Google spreadsheets.
As for DIYs, they created the photobooth, props, and a DJ booth. The table cards, menus, Amagansett plum jam, and tote bags designed by Anna Hoberman were all DIY too.
Parting words on choosing City Love Photography to document the day, Alexis has a very strong eye and when we met her we knew we would be comfortable. She is extremely attentive, organized and did an incredible job capturing the day—especially when it came to wrangling our large families.
