Kauai destination wedding: Jamie + George

April 26, 2017
Tropical bouquet

Not too long ago that we shared a wedding in Maui, not to mention this editorial in Oahu, so it’s pretty safe to say we’re super into all the ways you could incorporate Hawaii’s tropical vibes into your big day around here. For Jamie + George, it was all about sharing the gorg island that they got engaged on with 75 of their closest pals. Moana Events coined their style ‘modern tiki chic’, since they were into both modern design + vintage Hawaii. Thanks to Schyne Photography for sharing!

Jamie says, George and I tried to figure out one moment that stood out to us but we couldn’t. As cheesy as it sounds the entire day was magical from start to finish. We could go on and on about how everything about that day was memorable, all the love and happiness as we walked down the aisle together, the design perfection of the wedding, the perfect weather and how it rained at just the right time and the sun came out at just the right time and the rainbow over our reception as if it was planned that way, and the pure joy of seeing all our closest friends and family dancing under the clear top tent with twinkle lights…

The team at Moana Events blended lots of tiki bar décor with a contemporary + colorful design.

A few more details on the design… The play of patterns was the most fun, as Moana Events custom sourced different fabrics for the table runners, napkins and pillow cases—bringing in a fresh tropical feel. They even covered the white ghost chairs for the bride and groom in a banana leaf pattern. To complement the patterns, they used fern plants and colorful tropical flowers on the tables and in the ceremony design.
