The L-O-V-E in Lehua + David’s H-O-M-E themed wedding will jump from out of these photos, and make you smile. The meaning behind their wedding was wholeheartedly suiting to their Hawaiian upbringing. Why home as a theme? They want their marriage to be exactly that – a safe place for each other where home isn’t a destination but more of a space you share with another person. But that’s not all. Lehua is also a designer that loves the color gold. Be prepared to see pretty invitations, gold mason jars, gold balloons, gold letters and king protea bridal bouquets!
I’m a designer, so I designed the invitations and had them printed at a local letterpress shop. My fiance, one of my bridesmaids, and I stayed up late for two nights water coloring each invite after they had been letterpressed. We also made an info card that was printed on vellum and sewn together with gold thread onto cardstock. I found “glittered” vellum envelopes and printed all the addresses on them and sealed it all together with gold washi tape. One of our engagement photos was visible through the vellum on the backside. The invites corresponded to the wedding website we made. We also made matching menu cards as well as program cards along with flags for the “flower girls” to carry.

It wouldn’t be a home themed wedding without having family involved. Below is Lehua’s grandfather presiding over the ceremony.
The bridal party and groom walked down the aisle to Motopony’s “Wait for Me”. As for what played while Lehua walked down the aisle, here’s what she had to say: My father’s a musician and years ago when I was a little girl he wrote me a song but never recorded it. David surprised me by having my dad record the song and that’s what played as I walked down. I was so surprised and lost it at that point. I’ve been bugging my dad for years to record it, but it was definitely worth the wait to hear it on my wedding day. My parents also sang the song they wrote for their wedding day and added a verse for us, I was crying the entire time. Our first dance song was “The Weather” by Built to Spill, (it was playing when we had our first kiss).
When in doubt, grab some gold spray paint and go to town! We love how these mason jars came out!
