When deciding between Australia (where they’re from) and France (where they live), these two weighed all possibilities, like bookmarking destination wedding photog David of Modern Vintage Weddings just in case. Turns out, venue Chateau Les Carrasses suggested him too. Great photographer, great venue (hello restored Chateau)—all so meant to be. In fact, the whole thing is quite the fairytale…

Megan says of Modern Vintage Weddings, Boy… did we make the best decision EVER! Everything from our first email, our catch up FaceTime sessions, the day before the wedding, preparations on the day, the wedding night to the day David left (even our social media banter now post wedding)… has been an absolute delight. Not only did we have a photographer who captured the wedding in perfect photos, we made a friend.

Isn’t this whole place dreamy? They wanted their guests to have an authentic 3-day experience in the South of France.

Megan, on their first dance… My made of honour and I choreographed a fun routine in the week leading up to the wedding and although Josh during his home practises put on little “temper tantrums” that he was too shy to perform a choreographed routine on the night but deep down he really did want the attention and it certainly showed on the night – he was a superstar. The very special part during the dance for me was in the last verse of the song, we brought in the bridal party and all the wedding guests on the dance floor to finish the dance and get the party started and there was that one moment where it felt like time stopped and everyone around me was just dancing and having the best time—that for me was all I wanted, everyone to dance, dance, and dance!

Josh is a pro rugby union player + Megan is a marketer and half of the planning took place in separate time zones. Megan’s tips for planning a wedding overseas:Ÿ

ŸŸ• Make sure there is a sufficient network of suppliers in the local area
• Be aware that a lot of little job tasks will pop up in the last few days, so be prepared for it
• ŸTry and stay onsite at the venue the night before guests arrive
Ÿ• Book great music acts—this is the KEY feature to any wedding
• A wedding website is a great help

Thanks for sharing Megan! Wishing you both the best!
