Guys, allow this cake to introduce just how colorful, modern, and fun K + T’s California wedding was. In fact, when they enlisted Wink! Weddings, that’s exactly what they told them they wanted it to be. That, and an outdoor celebration at La Quinta Resort, where Kristen has a ton of memories with her fam that they wanted to share with their 220 guests. As you can see in all the snaps by Studio Castillero, the day went so well that they can’t wait to go back for future vacays and gatherings too!
Kristen’s bouquet recipe by Primary Petals: peonies, protea, ranunculus (her mom’s fave flower and a nod to her own bridal bouquet), roses, and poppies.
I walked down the aisle to Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac. Tim and I were close friends until one fateful road trip to see Fleetwood Mac in Louisville where we realized we definitely both wanted to be more than just friends… Flash-forward 2 years and Tim proposed to me at a Fleetwood Mac concert in Charlotte—so we knew we wanted to incorporate their music into the wedding, and what better way than walking down the aisle? Our first dance was to Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton—we met while going to school in Nashville and the minute we heard that song we knew it was the one.
K’s dreamy gown is Manuel Mota for Pronovias from Panache Bridal in Pasadena, CA.
The first thing we told Liz and Layne from Wink! Weddings was that our wedding had to be outdoors, full of bright, beautiful colors—pinks, oranges, blues—and that it had to be fun! Tim and I are both lucky to have two big families and amazing friends—we wanted a wedding that brought them all together in a beautiful location in the desert. It was important to us that the wedding felt relaxed, unique, and reflective of our gorgeous surroundings. Wink! Did an amazing job of pulling together the best team of vendors that all got that vision and executed to perfection.
