100 Layer Cake + Hedley and Bennett holiday dinner
Maybe some of you caught wind on Instagram of the dinner party we hosted a few weeks ago at the Hedley & Bennett Apron factory with our friend Ellen. It was pretty fun, we have to say. To kick off the holiday season, we wanted to throw a little party for ladies (and a few gents) who spend all year entertaining their own guests. Wedding planners, caterers, food and lifestyle bloggers, cocktail experts, and more all came together to cook and eat under twinkling lights in Ellen’s beautiful space. And today we so excited to be able to share the photos with you guys! It was the first party we’ve hosted and we hope to make it a regular thing, if you know what we mean. The lovely Mary Costa was on hand to capture all of the details and as always her photos are perfection.
Naturally we had a goodie bag! Big thank you to Crate and Barrel for the copper shaker, Sugar Paper for the gold striped coasters, La Colombe for artisan coffee, Hepp’s Salt Co. for gourmet salt, the Flair Exchange for festive balloons, and of course Ellen and her team for producing these custom HB napkins for our dinner and guests.
The gold candlesticks came from Dish Wish. We had over 100!
And as always, the ladies of Brown Paper Design created the most gorgeous festive, fall florals throughout the entire event.
Our calligraphy came from a local LA gem, PetitSerif. Her work is just beyond beautiful you guys.
Our gold tables numbers (which are beautiful, right?) are from Gauge NYC on Etsy.
And we have to give a big shout out to this lady, Steph of A Dapper Line who helped coordinate a ton of stuff on Hedley & Bennett’s side.
Our delicious fall cocktails were expertly prepared by The Whaling Club. So so yummy. Definitely had our share!
And finally the food and wine. Which was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, BTW. Our meal was prepared by the stellar culinary team of Osteria La Buca, with ingredients from their local LA farm. The lettuces for our salad were picked that morning! We were in heaven. And executive chef Cameron Slaugh was on hand to teach us all how to make the most spectacular sunchoke gnocchi. It was such a fun party activity and one that we’re super excited to try at home. Love learning something new when you’re at a social event. Our wines all came from Palmina Wines in Santa Barbara County. They were spectacular, ladies, and we seriously suggest that you seek them out!
Naturally we all wore Ellen’s aprons. They’re so good! (Great holiday gift too. *wink*)
And to set the mood, the talented trio Django Foxtrot played beautiful bluegrass music throughout the night.

And finally, biggest shout out to our amazing interns, Kenzie and Aubrey of Details, Darling. There is no way we could have pulled this event off without their stellar coordination skills. We are so incredibly lucky to be able to work with them! We love having them on our team so much. Also, do you like our matching fashion skills? Total coincidence.

Oh and can’t forget the lighting installation. SD Socialights went all out with the hanging light display above our tables and those cute letters from their collection.
And that’s a wrap! It was so much fun to plan this event with Ellen and her team and to meet so many new people in the entertaining and lifestyle space here in LA. Here’s to a festive, joyful holiday season for everyone!
