Hey there, Cakies! It’s Kristina here, popping in to share a summer refresh of my master bathroom with you this morn. Because every change of season is a good excuse to redo *some* part of your house, dontcha think? And I do love a tidy bathroom with all of my things just so. (With three kids it’s hard to keep even one corner of the house for myself!) This month I updated our bathroom with new, completely luxurious linens from Coyuchi and the most delicious line of organic, natural bath products from s/he studio. Both brands are committed to organic materials, non-toxic products, and a smaller ecological footprint, all of which are important to me in my home. Make sure you scroll to the bottom to enter to win your own summer bath refresh too!

I love having mixed bath linens available, both for looks, and because sometimes  you just want a different kind of towel! On super hot days it’s nice to quickly dry off with a really light Mediterranean bath towel, but after an evening bath it’s nicer to get a little cozier with this one. Still nice and light for summer, but with more drying power. (Side note, I have tried A LOT of fouta-style towels and these are amazing.) My husband likes a traditional terry towel but ahem, cuteness counts around these parts! So these Sutro Stripe bath towels are perfect. Striped on one side, lightweight terry on the other. It’s literally the perfect towel for summer.

I do not hate taking a bath here, if you know what I mean.

Then there’s the bath products which are SO good. And they’re meant to be gender neutral so both of us can use them happily. Special plug for the Forest Brine soap here. You guys. It is divine. Same with the bath oil. And Dawn makes all of her products herself in small batches. It’s really a special little company, and completely infused with the spirit of the natural environment.

Here are her tips on summer skincare:

During the hot and dry summer months, it’s important to hydrate and nourish as well as exfoliate so that your skin is prepared to receive and fully absorb what you provide it with. s/he Seaweed + Salt Body Scrub uses the ocean’s alchemy to do just that. Mineral-rich Seaweed, Pacific Sea Salt and Bentonite Clay exfoliate skin, remove toxins from the body, and stimulate lymph circulation while organic oils of Coconut and Jojoba quench skin’s thirst.

To keep a radiant complexion all summer long, use s/he Seaweed + Lavender Face Exfoliant to naturally cleanse, calm and brighten skin tone with organic ground botanicals. Bonus: It can be used as a face exfoliant or soothing face mask post sunburn!

For head-to-toe nourishment, it’s best to apply body oil to moist skin after bathing. Using s/he Earthen Body Oil, gently massage in a circular motion from feet to heart, hands to heart and finish with neck to heart. This practice moisturizes skin, stimulates the lymphatic system and soothes nerves. And don’t forget to use a few drops in your hair to help prevent split ends.

Our bathroom is completely neutral, which is exactly how I like it, but it’s kind of nice to see a little color in there sometimes too! I love the subtle misty shades of the Sutro Stripe and Mediterranean towels in our space. Feels a little ocean-y and perfect for summer.
